Sure, it's not as twisty-turny as Blueprint, but so what? 'Break' is MILES away from Blueprint too and it rules. Plus, 'Wounded' has 'Pure', 'Hostile World', and 'Look Away' - those three alone are worth the price of admission. And as a bonus, you also get them doing a cover of DT's '6:00 ' (that's a joke for anyone who has ever complained about the last song). 2. 'Time Lost'. Rules. I've never heard anyone into Enchant say they didn't like this. The fact that the material represents 'leftovers' is questionable - most of the tunes could easily replace any other song that appeared on whichever album was recorded at the same time. 3. 'Break'. To me, this is their best, most mature effort, which is too bad since most people in the U.S. won't hear it. Imagine latter-day Rush without what some people consider to be Rush's wild inconsistency. Think 'Bravado', etc. In other Enchant news, they are writing new material and are shooting to have yet another album out by the end of summer. Lastly, I'll plug it shamelessly once again: Paul Craddick, their drummer, has a solo project called Xen which is pretty hard not to like. Drop by http://www.furiousskeleton.com and check out some samples and then email Paul and tell him you dig it. Or what you don't dig about it. If what you say is true, > that would be pretty unfair - are you sure it wasn't the other way around? There are two bars: One by the entrance, and one in the back. The under-21's were kept in the area by the first bar (near the entrance), so they only got to see the show from the left. (Actually, I think they could be in the back, too, but the soundboard would have blocked any view of the stage). > Was the full version of Paradigm Shift played too?? Imagine latter-day Rush > without what some people consider to be Rush's wild inconsistency. Think > 'Bravado', etc. Actually, I think Break is alot better than Rush's last few albums. It's an exremely dark and moody album, with (to quote the late Kevin Gilbert) more hooks than a tackle box. There's not one bad song on the album, and "My Enemy" is my personal song of the year. I'll even go so far as to say that 'Break' is my #1 album of 1998 - it's *that* good. - mike. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= erotomania! - http://www.erotomania.org -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 31 Dec 1998 15:14:53 +0000 From: Jon Parmet To: yts Subject: http://www.mediusvision.com/lte/News.html Message-ID: Pasted from Jordan's site: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ News!! 12/15/98-John will start his overdub tomorrow hoping to hear some cool stuff. Hearing Where Are You Now and Different Strings/La Villa Strangiato were breathtaking. As far as stuff that caught me by surprise because I haven't heard mention of it yet (and maybe this is because it's the first time they played it), but the intro to The Way It Used To Be was Run Like Hell by Floyd! Then, to close the song out, they busted into Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who!!! I was lovin' life... Another really cool thing for me was MP's drum part of Sunday Bloody Sunday in the middle of Bad.... it sounded like it should've been there all along. Simply brilliant. So anyway, I know there's been talk of a tape tree (who was organizing it, Bogie?) of the X-Mas shows. But for those of us who don't want to get one or all of the shows on tape, if all the shows got taped as originally planned, how 'bout a compilation CD of the best recordings of the songs that didn't make the video or Fan Club CD (like WAYN, Different Strings/LVS, Since I've Been Loving You, Hell's Kitchen, Run Like Hell/TWIUTB/Won't Get Fooled Again, O Holy Night, Bad (from Poughkeepsie at least for the SBS drum part), etc.) As I said, I think Bogie was the one that said he'd be DATing each of the shows. I think a compilation CD would rock.... what do you guys think??? Later for now.... Matt T. I need to check this out as soon as I can. I heard the new non-acoustic song, and it's pretty heavy. Heavier than anything off Crawl to China. I need to look into ordering this CD, too. I'm real interested in hearing some old heavy Tourniquet classics done acoustically.
