I hated the Radio Edit of Hollow Years. The real version sounds much better! 2. "The Way It Used To Be" - GREAT F'ing Song!!! Should've been on FII! 3. Does anyone know the story behind "You Or Me"? Why they changed it so dramaticly on FII? I personaly liked "You Not Me" better... Please forgive if any of this is common knowledge (I haven't read the FAQ = in about a year...). Josh S. I know I'm gonna get shit for this "hahahahaaaaa he's running away scared like a little chicken!!!", but Adam can call me or my mom or my dad whatever he feels like, it's not gonna make a damn difference. Adam is wrong about a lot of the stuff he wrote - the Empire tours numbers, his counterarguments to my takes on LaBrie's singing, etc. I've seen the shows, listened to the records, heard the realaudio transmissions for both bands, but I don't think anybody is interested in hearing about it. Anybody who's heard recordings (recordings don't lie, of course unless they are re-done in the studio) already has their own opinions anyway. The whole point I am trying to make still is: I don't think making fun or dissing Tate and Queensr=FFche is something that will make LaBrie look any better or worse. It will only piss off people that like both bands (like me), especially when some of the things said are not true. I'm not gonna dwelve into it anymore, nobody has to take my word for it, everybody should just listen and form their own opinions. And by the way, I never attacked you personally Adam, I attacked your arguments. You're the only one calling names here and attacking my person. I never did that. You've lost my respect for good (oh I know how big a laughter that little phrase is gonna get, but oh well). Something interesting I noticed: although I am not nearly as happy with Angra's "Fireworks" as I was with "Holy Land", there are two songs on the album which I was perfectly at home with almost from the get-go: "Gentle Change" and "Lisbon". Something about the melodies and structures in those songs seemed somehow to touch a chord with me. Weird -- I hadn't heard the tunes anywhere else before, but somehow I was familiar with the songs anyway. Must be because the music seems perfectly right, perfectly natural. I wouldnt go that far.. because it would be more true to say Explorer's club is a steroid version of Magellan.. and magellan being a "watered down" EC, You could say .. if you like magellan..then youll love EC, but its not the same the other way around... i absolutely love EC, and "like" Magellan.. and althought the style is pretty much the same.. its all to a much lower extent.. specially the guitar playing., the vocals ( the guy is good..but in no way compares..) It's got a very strangely timed middle part. (No, it's not the FYS version) It's really like Portnoy was trying to fuck with the rest of the band. :) I cut it off right where Portnoy's drum solo starts since everything after that is normal. 2) Metropolis with Nicky Lemmons from Kanagawa, Japan 1/10/98 (15:13, 13.9megs) This is the one and only (I bleeve) appearance of Nicky Lemmons in Japan. Check it out if you haven't heard Nicky yet... :) Ytsejam is in stereo but Metrop is in mono to keep down file size (which is still large). The links for these are at my webpage (in the .sig). I made a special effort to make a non-frames version for those schmucks still using Lynx. I knew if I didn't someone would start crying like a few months ago. :) Take care all, and enjoy... __________________________________________________ Adam Pye (Alpine) alpine(-at-)bellsouth.net ICQ: 9382967 http://personal.lig.bellsouth.net/~alpine ^^ Above URL for Tapelist w/ Setlists __________________________________________________ ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 4515 **************************
