Message-ID: <199812101632.RAA20403@online.no> Well, I've got a few questions. As always! I'm new to all of this prog.stuff, although I've been listening to DT for a couple of years now. For a 16 year-old that's a pretty long time! I find it much easier asking you guys than to spend hours finding the answers on the net myself... I hope none of you mind me asking questions that have nothing to do whith DT. I have noticed that some people are slightly irritated that there is so little DT content on the Jam. I miss it myself, but you can only talk about a thing for so long... Not that DT is boring or anything! H*** no! But It's pretty quiet around them right now.... Ok lets get to it: It's about alot of different artist's\Bands this time. -------Savatage-------- -Are Savatage christians? -I'm listening to "Jesus Saves"... -Is Savatage a popular band among DT fans? -They've (Savatage) been around for a while, right? How long? -IF I were to buy a Savatage album, any albums I NEED to have? -I loved FII and all of the other DT albums (esp. FII & IAW) --------Shadow Gallery------- -Shadow Gallery's Tyranny seems like a good album. Is it? -Sounds alot like DT! (some clips I've heard) -------Rex Carroll------- -Anyone heard of him\Whitecross? (Just curious) -------Marillion-------- -When Jammers talk about Marillion in a positive way, are they just reffering to the *early* marillion whith Fish on vocals? -If I like "Afraid of sunlight" will I like *the old ones* (Fugazi, azraels tear...), or am I better of whith "Radiation" and "Brave"? ----------------------- Wow! I amaze myself! That's alot of questions!!! Any attempts of answering will be appreciated! Have anyone else noticed that after every DT album (starting whith IAW), DT have given us *hang on a second* albums! -After IAW we got LatM -After Awake we got ACOS -After FII they gave us OiaL Coinsidense? (how do you spell that anyway?) So now we're about to get a new album in 99 (I hope!) Whith Metropolis 2 and a whole lot of other snacks. What will come next? Another *wait a little bit more* album? Well I don't mind! Off course all of the supposed *hang on* albums can be looked at to be independent (whatever that means in this connection) albums, but I think they surve the purpose as *hang on* albums for the Fans. Looking forward to seeing answers to my questions! If anyone even read this post that is.... Well anyway: DT Rules! The difference in tone that you hear between hitting an E5 power chord in open position or in 5th position on the low B/E can be produced by having dull strings, half wounds (what I have as a low B right now) etc. Your EQ can affect how it will sound. The amount of distortion will affect the sound and your ability to hear what's going on. The only reason you know for sure that JP plays 7 string is because you know a lot about him. Bands like Orgy, KoRn, Crimeny/Derek Taylor, Symphony X, Sevendust etc are all very ambiguous as to 7 string usage. As I said, the only way you can be sure is to see em play, or to read about it. Anything else is just conjecture. - Chris "Something really weird happened last night when that UFO passed over us." ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Dec 1998 11:43:27 -0600 (CST) From: polzin edward george To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: CDNow advertisement Message-ID: If you've set up a "My CDnow" account, then it remembers which bands you look at most and posts advertisements appropriately.
