Well, I just finished up a pretty sweet mix tape of DT and DT-Related bands. It's hard for me to pinpoint the vibe of the tape.... it started out as a mostly instrumental tape, but evolved into a tape of songs that really move and uplift me. It's hard to explain, but here's the results anyway, in case anyone was interested: SIDE A Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding (LIVE) Kindred Spirits (LTE) Freedom Of Choice (LTE) "To Live Forever" Jam (LIVE) ("Live In Tokyo" instrumental jam at end of TLF) Trial Of Tears SIDE B Bombay Vindaloo (LIVE) "Take the Time" Jam (LIVE) ("WOWOW" show instrumental jam at end of TTT) Hell's Kitchen Eve State Of Grace (LTE) Purple Rain (Instrumental from "Guitar Battle" CD featuring JP) O Holy Night (From 1996 DTIFC X-Mas CD) Space-Dye Vest That's it, folx. It fit perfectly onto a 90 minute tape. Pretty sweet, eh? I'm off to check out that Nightwish URL. Thanx for the info, Eckie! Laterz.... Matt T. Message-ID: <004701be227d$786fc5c0$2b6716cb@graham> Hey I finally got a copy of 5YIAL, I still haven't got my copy I ordered from CDnow, but that's another story altogether :) One word, awsome, a great package of various gigs and assorted things that leaves you hungry for more :) Make you wonder how big the DT video archives are ? Huge is my guess... Highlights are many, the 2 fan club shows are great and hopefully one day we'll get the complete shows. I also noticed, the songs from the Japanese PPV, the bass sound is much better than that video and the 'Mind Control' boot. I am very puzzled why the Rotterdam Fan Club show wasn't realsed as the live album ? Still we always have the next best thing......... Is it much harder to play? It creates a much heavier sound for the guitar part. Just listen to awake... The tracks that are on a 7 string are noticably harder sounding... Take a listen and see if you can figure out which ones are which... As a matter of fact, JP even stated that he wanted to try a harder sound for Awake... Awhile ago - i can't remember if it was on the Jam - somebody said that he/she thought that there are really few people/bands who use a 7-string creatively. Most of the time, according to that person, the 7-string is only used to sound heavier, but for solo's and bizarre chords and all, that seventh string is almost always left unused... That just crossed my mind... Anyone else have opinions on this?
