Explorers Club "Age of Impact" - Here's where the war will > start...Flame ME, and not the jam! For whoever said this cd is better than > LTE...they need a new pair of ears! I started this discussion in alt.music.dream-theater, but why not bring it into the Ytsejam mailing list for further opinions. I (daringly) rated the albums with DT participation this year as follows:1. Dream Theater - Once in a LIVEtime 2. Platypus - When pus comes to shove 3. Explorer's club - Age of impact 4. Liquid Tension Experiment - selftitled By putting LTE last doesn't mean that I don't like the album, it is great! The other ones are simply better, IMHO. Explorer's club didn't do that much to me at the start. If you asked me 3 weeks ago, I would easily have put EC last. But after having it in the CD changer in my car for a month my opinion has changed. I really like the epic, 'Pink Floydish' feeling of the whole album (it's like a theme) and I think it gets better and better each time I listen to it. To NuGgEtMaN: I don't want to buy myself a new set of ears. Mine works great, especially when I am listening to DT, Platypus, EC and LTE ;-) /Thomas ________________________________________________________________________ Nostalgia ain't what it used to be... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Nov 1998 14:30:19 +0100 From: "Marcel Coenen" To: "ytsejam" Subject: Soundsamples LV page updated !!! I try to listen to The House Of Hair every week on my local station, 98Rock in Baltimore. For anyone thats interested 98Rock broadcasts live, worldwide in RealAudio. House of Hair is on Saturday nights from 10pm-12mid Eastern Standard Time. Join the ride if you like. http://www.98online.com Click the tune in link. I too can't get enough of the 80's-early 90's metal. I had to laugh when I read your comment about Bon Jovi not sounding too bad. My friends and I were sitting around talking just this past weekend about that same subject. I was saying that there was a time when I used to bitch about them playing stuff like Bon Jovi and Poison. And now I would gladly put up with hearing that once in a while to hear some decent music on the radio again. It used to be that Bon Jovi and such was the WORST thing that was played, and I agree compared to the crap thats played today it IS great! Rock radio is in a sad state today...
