The > whole principle that (at least in the US) our school's athletic programs > receive more funding than any educational programs really pisses me off. Amen brother! I could hardly agree more. This leads me to another related topic. When I was much younger, I loved sports. The kind of kid who woke early to read to scores in the paper. But as soon as I started to really LISTEN to music and started to play instruments and such, I found that I had no interest whatsoever in sports. And after a while I couldn't stand them. Now I admit that playing the occaisional game with some pals can be fun, but I could care less who won what game or got what title, or what rank some college team is. And football I really hate! Always have. I get really annoyed how so many people assume that other people are into sports, as in: "Hey, do you know who won the game?" Anyways, have any of you other people had this happen to them as well? As to continue the non-prog trend, here are my non-prog choices: Iron Maiden (all eras) Clutch Type O Negative Wendy Carlos and the LSI Philharmonic Jethro Tull (I don't consider them prog) Fear Factory AC/DC (Bon Scott stuff) Star Wars soundtracks It goes on, but these fill my CD players the most these days. -C# ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jul 1998 22:27:30 PDT From: "Max Amundo" To: email_address_removed Subject: prog Message-ID: Let me correct that. LTE is very prog. I think because we listen to so much prog, it just sounds like music, and 80% of non-prog sounds like crap. I mean, I would never think Alan Parsons to be prog except they're listed under that. Only when I think about it do I realize that for our small group, 80% of "real music" is prog in some way compared to the mainstream. -maX ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Jul 1998 22:36:23 PDT From: "Max Amundo" To: email_address_removed Subject: E__L__P!!
