I'm off to the show at St. Andrews in a few minutes! Wish me luck in meeting the band! Hope to see some 'jammers there! Secondly..... Has anybody ordered from Kiss The Stone? No Nightmare Cinema, have they done that at all on this tour? I liked hearing Anna Lee, it sounded really good (i dont know why yall hate it so much). i was very glad to get to hear Trial Of Tears, it is such a great tune, and it sounded WONDERFUL. everything was great, they all just run together in my mind. id say Lines In The Sand was my favorite after ToT, i just live how that song translates live. its so powerful. i was really impressed with how many people were there, this was the same venue Fates Warning played at when i last saw them and there werent nearly as many people as i recall. when we pulled up to the club the line was just HUGE. glad to see a great turnout for the band. i really hate shows at annies though, its got the lowest ceiling, you feel claustrophobic in there. mike didnt even use his drum riser. its also extremely HOT in there with so many people crammed in. although the floor is sunken down a bit, it was so packed with people that my usual area to watch from (back by the soundboard - im too short to even attempt the floor most of the time) i couldnt see ANYTHING. too many people in front of me. most of the people in the back were standing on chairs throughout the whole show. the biggest surprise to me actually was how well Full On The Mouth was received by the crowd. when i heard their clips i was convinced they would be treated worse than Big Wreck was, i felt bad for the band thinking what would be waiting for them. But people really liked them, they got lots of applause after every song. Big Wreck was basically ignored when i saw DT in columbus. i find that strange, just based on their styles, id think Big Wreck would be more a DT fan type band. I didnt hate FOTM, they were ok. Kind of an odd White Zombie type band with more singing and not as heavy, more techno - ish. They were ok. I forget who posted about it the treatment of opening bands, but i totally agree, just BE KIND to the opener, it really pisses me off that with so many MUSICIANS in the crowd that people treat the opener bad. of all people who should be polite and understanding, WE should. ~melissa~ email_address_removed ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 May 98 16:13:45 EDT From: "Chung Ng" To: Subject: Need info on LA concerts for June Message-ID: Hi again. For the start, I`m glad we agree that there`s more to PD than pure stealing. I obvioulsy misjudged you in my reply, please accept my deep apology. Because of the nature of your post and some other jammers, I ASSUMED that you hate rap and therefore judge something that you can`t be objective to at all. My wrong and I apologise. But I still stand at my words that there`s lack of tolerance towards some music styles (like rap in this case). I didn`t say that ALL jammers are musical snobs, that would be absurd ofcourse. I still think these guys really know music and share simmilar taste with me. That`s why I bother reading tons of nonesense to get through to some really inspiring stuff. ;) I`ll ASSUME again...you`r from Milan right? Damn I wish I knew you earlier, cause I`d be delighted to buy you a beer before or after the DT show in Milan or Pordenone. Yep like a lot of 'official' live albums out there, they don't seem to capture the right spirit of DT's live show, having said that LatM does contain some great material. If you are looking for something more, there is plenty of 'live footwear' around the traps to seek out :) graham ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 May 1998 16:29:19 -0500 (CDT) From: email_address_removed To: email_address_removed Subject: Re: YTSEJAM digest 3884 Message-ID: "In my own fucking car (if I'm with my girlfriend) she bitches at me to "turn this fucking shit off" (DT)!" IOW, if they kept doing their I like evolution as well, but these albums aren't helping. I'm pretty bored with Sting, Pink Floyd, U2, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers precisely because of their new stuff. If Sting had kept with the Police, if PF had kept making albums that measured up to WISH YOU WERE HERE, the Chili Peppers hadn't lost their horns (I listen to Freaky Styley many times more than their newest), U2 hadn't gone to corp-pop (not that I was a really BIG fan of "War," but I like it ok), well, I'd buy their albums. (aside: I'm not really a big fan of Atom Heart Mother, but on the other hand "Astronomy Domine" off the first album is the best Floyd song ever written. -=- "I went outside to get a life, but everything was closed up tight." --------------------==== Broken via True Love ====------------------- http://www.afn.org/~afn39111 Butcher, Rape, Smash to Pieces ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 May 1998 18:18:32 -0400 From: email_address_removed (jemmons) To: email_address_removed Subject: Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland Message-ID: A brand new Hard Rock Cafe will open in Cleveland, Ohio on July 4th. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 May 1998 18:27:20 -0400 (EDT) From: Rick Audet To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: HOB L.A./Moshing Message-ID: Rob Jurado wrote: > Okay, I saw on the jam that the Sunday HOB show was rescheduled from > 7:30p to 9p, or something.
