First off, and ptacek can show up at my door with a 5 gallon container of gasoline and a match for this if he wants to, I just have to say that Full On The Mouth actually crosses the line of subjectivity. They suck for a fact. They objectively, factually, reek. And for god's sake, if that guitarist EVER flashes a crowd like that again, I swear to god, I'm going to reach up and yank those nipple rings out like grenade pins. Ok, that said, I'd never actually been to irving plaza before and I think it's got a really good sound system, plus our boys seemed at the top of their game, so it was a killer show. James got to do anna lee again, in fact the band left their stuff and set up at the front of the stage for it, and a few other songs, including speak to me, which I promptly shat my pants upon hearing because it's so cool. Oh yes, CiaW, which was awesome, and was broken in the middle by mike going up to the audience and terrorizing people into drum dueting w/him. No Voices and no New Millenium! dangit... they opened with ACOS part I and I nearly got trampled in a sea of rabid fans. The entire audience, which was already tightly compressed, actually surged forward as a unit for like 10 feet. It was scary. It was actually a mob for about 5 seconds. Then they broke into jlmb, which is exactly what I was thinking at the time so I headed for the balcony, where I spent most of the rest of the show perched on an overturned garbage can. needless to say, more cool shit happened then I can elaborate on. New shirts look real nice. That's pretty clever, selling us all crappy looking ones and *then* putting nice ones up for sale. Programs too, which have some real purty photos suitable for signing or shoving down the throats of the opening band's geetarist. Let me tell you something, I don't give a shit about your stupid road rash 3d song. I'm going to give you some road rash if you don't get off the stage right the fuck now! ok, that was a tangent. I so sorry. Well, afterwards we figured it'd be a while before the band came out to the bus, so we went to mickey d's around the block and then came back. I think this caused us to miss john m. I dont exactly know. But I finally got to meet petrucci, who disappeared at the last show I attended. I also met james again, and in fact, I'm beginning to think he's the coolest guy in the band. I can't explain it. He just rocks is all. never saw derek or mike this time. ah well. josh ............................................................ mailto: email_address_removed Check out Another Page at www.j51.com/~mrasiel. Message-ID: Sorry this is a late reply...I was out of town for 3 days (and I had about 20 jams to catch up on!) I agree with everyone in saying that Seroussi was way out of line posting private mail and that everyone tends to agree that his attitude stinks.... These are my opinions..... The great thing about FII is that while it is a more commercial album than before.....they hasn't totally abandoned their roots......(ie Metallica - sorry to any fans and anyone who is sick of hearing this name on the jam!)....the prospect of DT making more money off this album excites me because imagine what they will be able to do with that money when it comes to recording again! (I can hardly wait for Metropolis II) An example is Virgil Donati...he is an awesome drummer....he used to be in a band here in Australia called Southern Sons....they were a blatant commercial machine (ie my mother likes them)...but with the money he made he was able to do other things on the side...in his case instructional videos....travelling to percussion "Festivals" etc..... The sad case with the world is that there is little money in integrity.....to be able to incorporate integrity and commercial viability al la FII is a great feat and will only strengthen the band, improve future releases and determine the true fans from the rest.... I admit I wasn't impressed with FII the first time...but I can tell you now....it has grown on me! I still prefer Awake and I & W....but even though FII is more simple in places...it's still DT...and you can still see some classic DT in it....and that is important.... Also DT do not have to justify themselves to us......we are the fans but they are the artists....to them integrity is doing what they think is right....even if they decide to become a techno band! :) It's their decision and their music....if you don't like it....don't listen! :) Sorry about the long post! The only thing that pissed me off about this show was the asshole fans that were there. There was this one guy that kept saying how much Full on the mouth sucked during all of their set. If only he would've shut the fuck up. Also, I know this sounds extreme, but it's too bad there isn't a law saying that we can kill anyone who moshes at a DT show. Moshers really take away from the experince when they get in your face. I wouldn't mind if they all just died. I'm serious. It doesn't make sense to slam into people: why not just slam into a brick wall. You'll be doing society a favor. As for the show, well these guys just keep putting on the greatest shows. Every time I've seen them they always throw in something new. I was totally lovin it when they played a part of "hot for teacher" and was loving it even more when they played a little "yyz." I'm like "HOLY SHIT!!" There were obviously more parts I want to mention, but I'm too lazy right now. Message-ID: I know this is non-DT related, but it relates to the discussion about rap singers stealing work from real musicians. I am watching right now probably the WORST and most DISGRACEFUL performances of a great song by a rap singer. I am watching SNL and Puff Daddy is totally RUINING Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. I feel terribly sorry for the millions of kids around my age being exposed to this catastrophy of a song, instead of the great original. I haven't come to the worst part yet. Jimmy Page is there with him, playing his guitar part. Jimmy's career, in my view, is now officially over. Although I am sure it was just for the money, I really don't see why he needs an extra million or so. His new album with Plant is very successful, as well as the upcoming tour, not to mention his millions of royals from the back catalogue. Actually, I hope it is just for the money, I would hate to think Jimmy actually enjoys perfroming with this no-talent rip-off. Whats next? A "sample" of PF's Wish You Were Here? Maybe we'll get lucky and all those "east" amd "west" coast rappers will kill each other off to the point where they will be extinct.
