If you want to hear great acoustic guitar playing, this is the disc to get. It is an hour-long live performance, with songs ranging from classical to country to ragtime to classic Yes tunes. There are no back-up musicians, just Steve Howe and a guitar. If you like Yes, or even if you don't, I highly recommend this CD. -Paul ----------- Paul Humm email_address_removed ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Apr 1998 01:13:03 -0800 From: email_address_removed (Charoenkwan Luesumphan) To: email_address_removed Subject: Pallas Message-ID: Jay Omega wrote: > The very brief liner notes claim that the concept behind >the album has been in the works since '79, but the album was made in '92. >The story is a fantasy/sci-fi allegory to the Cold War of the past >decades, but someone pressed "the button"... I have sold a few boots in my day, but not enough to Scott, this is untrue. Brian Cox posted it years ago and he was wrong to begin with. It's a '94 pickup, it was purchased in December '93, and Subconscious came out in April of 1995. The two are unrelated, and there are records to prove it... the truck was largely paid for by the huge down payment put on it at the time of purchase, and was paid off entirely by the time Subcon came out. I know most of you don't care. I wouldn't either. But this is the kind of bullshit that if not properly refuted (which apparently it wasn't back when Cox posted it) will get dug up and slung around YEARS later. You are aware, perhaps, that I am on excellent terms with a bunch of other CDR bootleggers, all of which I respect and hold in the highest regard? Just ask them... Neil Elliott, Chris King, Chris Delp, John DiBella, Marcel Berkhout, Ryan Whitaker... they're a classy bunch of guys. (I'd include Bogie too but I don't know him that well yet. I'm sure he's a perfectly cool fellow.) They have their customers just as I do, on the merits of the stuff they make and release, which I assume is pretty good (and in most cases I own it so I KNOW it's good). If anyone's hoarding (not horde... a horde is like a mob or pillaging group of bandits... a HOARD is a stockpile or large quantity) anything right now, it's YOU... hoarding peoples' ATTENTION with your inflammatory remarks. :) > If ANY person on this list gets busted for selling boots I will > email every > federal law enforcement agency in the USA and the state of Arizona as Why in fuck's sake would I ever want anyone else busted? "Shin-sho-ryu-reppa! You Win! Pahfect!" (grin to all SF vs MSH players) > >Coming from you this is the height of hypocrisy.. > >Please tell me why trading a CDR of FII demos is > >counterfeiting/piracy ? OK, now some education for the greenhorns in the audience today. A counterfeit is an exact copy (or such attempt) of an existing item that's available for sale. Piracy is a counterfeit where it's obviously not an attempt to mimic the original product, so that its illicit origin is evident, but contains the same contents. Example: I can buy a COUNTERFEIT of Quake II from the local flea market, or I can get a PIRATE copy off a warez web site. A bootleg is a recording that is not available for sale but that contains property that is copyrighted to another party. Example: A CD of a DT show from 1995 on a DAT tape is a bootleg. A copy of Rush "Exit Stage Left" video is a bootleg (it's not available for sale anymore... at least not in the USA. In Japan, where IIRC it's still on laserdisc, it would be piracy). > >You making a digital copy of an officailly released Rush > >video and selling it for $20/$40 isn't ? > > You mean Critcal Mass? Yep, Bahr sells this bootleg and yes it IS from a video> (I have this video so I know, don't lie Bahr!) Scott, quit while you're ahead. You're just digging yourself deeper and deeper. Graham was referring to the ESL and p/g and ASOH video soundtrack boots from Rush. They're all on known bootlegs already, all are out of print and thus are bootlegs and not pirate material, and none of them are Prism anyway... it's just like me copying Mirrors for someone. Critical Mass was NEVER released and is about as pure bootleg as it gets, as it was a stolen closed-circuit tape from one of the staff of the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan. > >Weren't you also copying and selling Sony Playstation games at one time, > >again this counterfeiting/piracy, is it not ? > > ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh! > /me wonders if Sony knows about this. Things that make you go > hmmmmmmmm...... :) Doesn't matter. I don't deal in Sony PSX games and have no recollection of ever having done so. (smile) Damn, why do people keep dredging this shit up? I'm finally well on my way to setting things right. Let's keep things that way. Props to all the regulars, and can't wait til May 20th for the local DT show!! And why does it always seem like this is all I ever post to the Jam about? I wanna be a normal fan too!! TripleZ records has suffered big problems during the last 6 months, but we are now back in business! The "big thing" is we changed our name, because there already was label named TripleX, so we are now TripleZ / Sleepy man records. We are still offering our first product, Amorphis : Isle Of Joy bootleg, excellent sounding bootleg from Finnish masters of progressive doom metal(more info can be found at http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Dungeon/4371/). We were able to set the price a little lower, so one AMO:IOJ is now only $15! Those of you who already ordered back when this beauty was originally released, don't worry, we'll try to contact you and send your money back, if you don't hear from us, mail to this new address, and you'll get the cash back. TripleZ will also soon start selling CD-R replicas of boots, MP3 boot collections and possibly VIVO format video CDs, we'll try to keep the jam updated. Enjoy the jam.... personally all you 1500 are like my big family :) Rip von Rytinki TripleZ / Sleepy man records __________________________________________________________ Get Your FREE Email address at http://www.GNWmail.com/ GNWmail.com - International free e-mail in your language ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 26 Apr 1998 14:22:54 +0100 From: "CP Parnham" To: email_address_removed Subject: Traders/bootleggers/Ytserobbers.... Graham is a great guy who's done me a great favour and what he's doing isn't wrong in my opinion. I agree totally with his points about Mike Bahr's CDs and the fact that just about all the FII demos are somewhere on the Internet for downloading anyway. If this is the case then why shouldn't they be on a CD or two somewhere around the world? Graham saved me from paying up $20 fucking dollars to a certain other trader on here (no names mentioned...) and *that* person never even replied to my e-mail! Here's a song from RED, which is right at the end of the Fripp-Bruford-Wetton Mahavishnu-on-steroids incarnation of Crimso. It goes from meanace to jazz to meanace to jazz. Special guest genius Ian McDonald on alto sax. Check out the drums. They're insane. King Crimson is almost my favorite band. I have all their albums except Starless and Bible Black (one day I'll pick it up) and Three of a Perfect Pair (no way I'm paying for it). Likely you'll end up buying them all as well. The 3 meg mp3 is in 44k mono, because I don't have the disk space for stereo, but that doesn't really matter because it's just a sample. The file is zipped to avoid cooking of the mp3 by Netscape. The song will be around for a week. A week from now, it will disappear from the face of the earth, just one more red nightmare. -=- I know a monster when I see one in the mirror. --------------------==== Broken via True Love ====------------------- http://www.afn.org/~afn39111 Butcher, Rape, Smash to Pieces ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 3796 **************************
