Message-ID: Hi, people. Ok, if you want to trade :-), go to my trading homepage at: and you'll see part of my list of bootlegs there (including the "FII Demos" CD with tracks denoised by me -- just ask Graham, the "robber", or Nick, the "bogie", if they prefer the MP3 files originated from the CD or the tracks on the CD). If you want to see my complete list of bootlegs (only audio), send an empty message to with the subject line contents: "send bootlist" and you'll receive my list. Please follow these rules strictly, because I have a program replying to these messages and it won't understand if you don't follow them. Some extra comments: * My tape deck isn't working. I can't make tapes, only CD-Rs (see, no apostrophes! Oh, Unfortunately, I can't even make tapes for my car); * I will give you 2 CD-Rs from my collection for any 9760932406th generation tape of an Opeth bootleg; :-) * I'm preparing a new bootleg called "Ytse Jams", with (oh, you guessed it) rare jams only, by Dream Theater and John Petrucci (the Necronomicon tracks, some untitled jams, etc); * I'm open to any kind of trades. BTW, I traded more than once with Graham and he is a decent trader, if you ask me. And now he can dub CDs, which is even cooler. (Are you people serious that you can get CD-Rs for $1.50 in the US? Wow! Do they come with jewel boxes for this price? If yes, double wow!) Also, what is the problem with "a sentence fragment" if it was intentional (of course, I had to put a short statement there or it wouldn't fit in one line together with the "Undergraduate..." piece) and is documented by grammars and style books (usually to avoid alliteration) as being a valid construction? They did that type of stuff in King for a Day. They are not just jumping on the bandwagon, they did it before Korn or anyone came out. FNM was one of the few bands that did whatever the hell they wanted. No one in the world sounded like them, no one. You can't say that about many bands. Face it, old metal is gone. No music ever stays the same. Does any music of today sound anything like music from the 40's or 50's? I don't think so. What Coal Chamber and band like that are doing is really not much different that what Pantera, Sepultura, etc. have done in the past. It's just that these new bands have no talent so they must scream to evoke passion from their fans. We can blame all these new bands on Pantera's last album. They set the stage for metal today. Now, I hate to be a big pussy, but that's pretty rough on the ears. I've heard several people say something about high quality earplugs that, supposedly, protect those great auditory hairs that we all love while not making the music sound as if the band is playing inside a giant pillow. Do such devices exist? If so, where do I get them. jason ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Apr 1998 16:43:08 -0400 From: email_address_removed (Carlos Alfaro) To: email_address_removed Subject: King Crimson Message-ID: Ok, Im interested in King Crimson. Dreams, Love Walks In, "5150", Mine All Mine, Judgement Day, In N' Out, The Dream is Over, Right Now, The Seventh Seal, Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do), Feelin', Humans Being. Furthermore, "One I Want" can be thought of as "Big Fat Money" part II. A friend of mine (I actually have two or three) once bought Malmsteen's _Seventh Sign_; the disc had flamenco-style guitar on it. I had never heard of anything like that before or since until I read it now. To whomever posted "How to Write Good": thank you. The FII demo's are already circulated world wide via the internet.. MP reads the jam and I am sure he knows which sites have the FII demo's. To the best of my knowledge Mike has not asked these sites to remove the songs or asked us not to d/l them ? > I'd have released them the day after FII came out if it weren't > for the band's request. Oh that was so kind of you not too.... Didn't Kevin Moore ask his "Music Meant to be Heard" demo not be put onto CD and sold ? Coming from you this is the height of hypocrisy.. Please tell me why trading a CDR of FII demos is counterfeiting/piracy ? You making a digital copy of an officailly released Rush video and selling it for $20/$40 isn't ? Weren't you also copying and selling Sony Playstation games at one time, again this counterfeiting/piracy, is it not ? While I don't know the exact letter of the law in he USA or AZ, isn't your whole business counterfeiting/piracy ? That's what bootlegging is, isn't it ? Training would begin in Australia, analysing choice quotes from graham, with a 'true or false' competition on which bits he really means, and how a smiley gives the game away and spoils the fun. When recruits succeed in putting their tongues in their cheeks, they may continue... Then to Arizona to drive in Vince's van and tune in to Eckie, who is far too amusing for a boy of his age, and to offer a group prayer for DT to tour Arizona. We also learn the meaning of 'hootananny' and learn the latest on the Kevin Moore testicular cancer theories. Stopping by Jon Parmet to acquire some sorely needed wisdom, good taste and good argument skills, it's on to the UK, where we 'feel the pain' of Dave, a UK Jammer, who had to wait 2 weeks longer than the Americans for his copy of FII We then come to a hallowed spot where Al and Pat stand, with angels playing harps in the background to mark the most momentous peace process of the decade. Everyone participates in a group hug, and says 'I love you man' with real feeling. Next, to Chicago to meet Mr Chris Ptacek. This snarling, dangerous creature must be approached with caution. Each rookie will be given a phrase like 'Actually, I think Mike Bahr does a service for mankind' or 'Michael Hedges and Ron Thal can't play for shit' or 'scalloped frets like Yngwie's are cool' and released into Ptacek's cage. Those who argue their life for over ten seconds will be snatched out and awarded a graduation certificate. Advanced students will go westwards and try to interpret Bafu Vai. If anyone can say why the hell his stuff's so funny, they get a summa cum laude. Did I leave any important training out? I'm sure many of you have found it to be very stimulating, whereas others may find it just as exciting as reading about music theory. For this, I apologise. A recap for anyone who is wondering what the hell I'm raving on about: Some time ago, I was commenting on Opeth and said, "Opeth are" instead of "Opeth is". Everything just snowballed from there, unfortunately, with many casualties and stuff and general unhappiness. Sorry. Of course, if no one had commented on my faux pas, then I wouldn't be writing about this now. So, in a way, I'm not actually responsible for what is going on. Maybe I shouldn't apologise at all. So I won't. Thank you for your time. Spiff ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 3793 **************************
