I went today, Tuesday, to get tickets for Blue, found they were sold out, so asked about DT instead, and sure enough, they are on sale already, so tomorrow morning, im going! But they are on sale for philly! >> I've already received some e-mail regarding a pre-show mini-ytsecon, but >> I'd like to get a list together of 'jammers who will be attending the show, >> some suggestions as to where we might meet, etc. I'd also like to know if >> anyone knows when tickets will be going on sale for this show (and about >> any age restrictions, so maybe we can work on getting me a fake ID ;). >> Private e-mail is welcome, as always. > > just email me with any questions. i'll definatly be there. Hey, a miny ytsecon sounds great. Lets really work something out, may it be a list of people on the web with a sign up or just hand the role over to mike and have him organize the whole thing (thats where my vote goes). But anyway, I'm there, and, I'm bringing 5 people! Two of which saw Dt once before, were converted and are now as devouted as I. Also, Mike and others, what types of banners should we make? Never been to the E Fact before, but would we be able to take em in? Email me with any comments as im not very good at actually reading the jam. Adios. I don't believe them. There's currently an argument/discussion just starting up on the Rock City message board . . . go to http://www.rock-city.co.uk and follow the "Messageboard" link. The thread is appropriately entitled "I Can't believe it - You Dickheads!!" - well done, Charlie. :-) I urge everyone to send hate mail, flames and dead animals to Rock City. I wasn't going to be at the Nottingham show anyway, but I am still disgusted at the stupidity and downright arseholeness of the British music industry. It's amazing any bands ever come here at all. Anyway . . . thanks, Dream Theater, for the shows you did play here (especially Glasgow). Or just a metal band with death vocals? Because they have some really cool non-death metal stuff on both albums (how many albums do they have? Just Morningrise and Orchid?). Never been much of a fan of death metal, mainly because of the vocals, but I don't have a problem with Opeth's vocals. --- D. Does this mean that some people will be secretly hoping that James will be sick, just so they get to see an all-instrumental gig? Probably... although singing along to Erotomania wouldn't be as involving as other songs. A drum solo, on the other hand... --- Other comments: My Easter long weekend was ruined by the evil that is "Civilization II" - I bought it on Thursday last, and that was it - I was addicted, although I was of course crap at it to begin with. Once I wiped out one of the enemy countries, I was hooked. And so my four days off were reduced to what seemed like less than two, as the time flew by. My best score, incidentally, was 20%. The Japanese were just too powerful, and some Persian city that I can't remember the name of (not Persepolis) just wouldn't fall. No fair. Other news - saw "In the Company of Men" on the weekend (just started in Australia). What absolute bastards! Pricks, even! Just for the hell of it, and to waste even more space than I already have, here are a list of bands that I have seen live: Poison, Def Leppard, U2, KISS, Steve Vai, Faith No More, Ozzy Osbourne. Seeing Metallica and Van Halen next week. Here are a list of bands that I desperately want to see live, but they haven't toured Australia yet (or while I've been a fan): DREAM THEATER, Rush, Savatage, Megadeth (they were here during the RIP tour), Iron Maiden (have been here a couple of times, last time they didn't play Brisbane but played Sydney and Melbourne - bastards), DREAM THEATER, Queensryche and DREAM THEATER.
