Maddy just showed me an ad in our school paper for a class (which is in the course catalog, so it's legit) in music appreciation. This class differs from the music appreciation class I took last semester, in content, not in course number (meaning, I don't think I could benefit from taking this one, since I got an A in the other one). This course focuses on Progressive and Fusion music! The description mentioned "The music of Queensryche, Dream Theater, ELP, Pat Metheny" etc!!! Can you believe this? In as state school!!! Message-ID: Hi, I'm a VERY happy Eden user and would be quite happy to recommend the stuff to anyone thinking about playing bass. The Nemesis stuff is out. Basically the Nemesis line is a series of smaller, more portable combo amps than the head/cabinet unit. Personally I think that the cabs sound better, but they can be a real pain in the ass to haul around and set up. (I can't fit my entire amp set-up in my honda Civic). The Nemesis are much more affordable than cabs and they sound much better than many of the other combo amps. If you are looking for a great bass amp and you can afford to wait a while save up the cash for an Eden cab system. If you want a cab system bnut don't want to pay that much buy an Eden head and the new Peavey bass cabs (I'm not kidding, these things are amazing. I'd rate the cabs as 95% as good as the Edens at 50% of the price) and go with those. If you still don't want a cab system, get a Nemesis. The only problem with Eden stuff is that it really spoils you. I HATE playing through any other amps. (why do the vast majority of bass amps sound like you are beating your B string on a chain link fence?-especially Hartke-blech). Seriously, I cringe every time I practice through my friends Fender bass amp-it is just soooo shril compared to the Eden. Mustaine- I once heard his singing voice compared to a man on the receiving end of a vacume-cleaner enema! Personally, I like his voice, it is quite unique and immediately stamps the music with "Warning-kick ass music by Megadeth ahead!". For those who have seen Megadeth live, you know that, even with his Donald Duck/cartman/Vacume enema voice-no one can command an audience's attention like the Man when he's speaking. Very charismatic guy onstage. Friedman and Kenny G. These guys are twins seperated at birth-think about it. Same pubic hair on their heads-same "Bruce Willis trademark" facial scruff, same goofy grins, and same pinched chins. Brothers, it has to be. ta-ta, Seth "I want your kidneys, little man" Hatlelid Seth Hatlelid email_address_removed Check out my web page at http://artsci.wustl.edu/~srhatlel/index.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?" ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Apr 1998 18:49:31 EDT From: ClPuritan To: email_address_removed Subject: Tower Records Message-ID: Hey Jammers, I haven't read or posted to the jam in forever, being that I get the jam at my aol account, and that I have been at school. I was just really moved by a Richard Riviera's comment about Tower Records. After he found LTE at Tower Records he proclaimed what a store. Well I too saw LTE at Tower, but I also saw it down the street at Newbury Comics, a small Boston based chain, for a dollar less. When I returned to Tower a few weeks later to browse, I noticed that although they had a LTE divider, there were no CD's. I walked down the street to Newbury Comics and there LTE was. They were having a 3 dollar off sale. So I got the CD for 4 dollars cheaper than I saw it at Tower. Tower Records, a huge chain, gets tons of business, while those in the know shop at Newbury Comics. Just my 2 cents for relatively small business. mark ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Apr 1998 20:03:43 -0300 (EST) From: Rogerio Brito To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: BAH!
