Yeah, I noticed that too. :-) In fact, I was very surprised that they even got a mention in the liner notes since I don't recall any other bands being listed (I could be wrong, though.) I remember back on the Awake tour that DT promised another summer U.S. tour, and that Fates mentioned coming back "in the spring" with a full-length show. Neither happened. I think that they are doing a few more shows before the DT/DP/ELP (now known as the "Deet-Deep-Elp" tour) is a nice thing. And for those complaining about "us lousy californians" -- I will be driving 300+ miles to see DT iin Los Angeles and I live in California. It's a big place. I guess we're just used to driving more. :) 300 miles to see DT on 3 nights in a row doesn't seem like a big thing to me, especially since it looks like I can miss classes on those days without a big mess. ~Chris ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Apr 1998 17:29:04 -0500 (CDT) From: Robert Taylor To: email_address_removed Subject: Conception - Parallel Minds Message-ID: I just got Conception's "Parallel Minds" and was wondering if anyone knows why there are lyrics in the liners to a song that's not even on the disc (not to mention that the lyrics are completely out of order with regards to the actual track listing). Hey, Extreme stuff! I can deal with this. Jeff remarked: >>* Some B-52's song > I believe the B-52's song is "Rock Lobster." Please correct me if >I'm wrong. You're not. They played "Rock Lobster" as part of it during the show here in Atlanta (natch), since the B-52's were from Athens, which isn't far from Atlanta. >I >believe Extreme's "Cupid's Dead" has been played in it. I don't know for certain if it's part of every performance, but I remember several posts from the previous US tour that remarked that they'd heard it. I think it was played at the Atlanta show, but I don't remember (that's weird, considering how keen I am about Extreme stuff generally). Alan remarked: >Mike Mangini was the one who played drums with Vai on the G3 tour, this guy >can really play...the good thing about this guy is that he can play as left >handed and right handed....you can listen to him on the extreme album >"Waiting For The Punchline". Yeah, he's an impressive drummer, but he didn't play on most of "Waiting for the Punchline". Mangini only played on "Hip Today" and "Leave Me Alone"; the rest of the tracks had drums from the previous drummer, Paul Geary. ========================================================= Phil Carter -- email_address_removed http://www.negia.net/~carter "Music brings peace to the restless, and comforts the sorrowful. The only thing I can think of is that the lyrics to 'Black On Black' are a 'bonus' track from the Japanese version of the CD which were mistakenly printed in the booklet. Both of the other Conception CD's I have are Japanese and they have bonus tracks that are not listed on the liner. graham ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 08 Apr 1998 19:38:08 -0400 From: Adam To: email_address_removed Subject: Re: IDs and such... It wasn't meant to be a flame or putdown to anyone, I'm just saying what I've observed. I will admit, I do live in a college town, but even when I'm in Atlanta I've noticed most people under 21 do have some form of ID. I find it interesting that you appear to consider folks who enjoy going out to be less than "distinguished." If wanting to meet new people, see bands at 21+ shows, and just have a good time out on the town with your friends makes me "undistinguished," I guess I'm guilty as charged (though I'm 21 now and don't need the ID). Maybe you should try it sometime - might loosen you up a bit... :) Take care... __________________________________________________ Adam Pye alpineone(-at-)mindspring.com ICQ: 9382967 http://www.mindspring.com/~alpineone/tapelist.html ^ Above URL for bootlist w/ setlists __________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Apr 1998 17:06:52 -0700 (PDT) From: Matt Johnston To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: Re: Long Distance Runaround Message-ID: On Wed, 8 Apr 1998, Chris Oates wrote: >before the DT/DP/ELP (now known as the "Deet-Deep-Elp" tour) is a nice "Deet-Deep-ELP"?
