I'm behind in reading jams, and I just read Arash's post about the tracklisting for the new DT...I was wondering if this is reliable shit or merely speculation? And to the guy that said "they already made I&W"...good point, I was thinking that myself. By the way has anyone out there heard a band called Psychotic Waltz? They're a kickass prog-metal band out of CA...you should check them out if you get a chance. Don't be expecting anything as complex or virtuosic as DT, but they're great nonetheless...also...any fans of (much) heavier jazz/fusion influenced shit, check out the solo record by Fredrik Thordendal. He's the lead guitarist of Meshuggah, and there is some awesome shit on that disc. The actual title is Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects-"Sol Niger Within" It's on Nuclear Blast (europe only) and it's a killer 41 minute tune...if you like complex, heavy shit, you'll love it (and it got a good reviewfrom Modern Drummer) Well that's enough shit. Gotta run. Bobby (bathing in the poison as always) <--NOT the lame band P.S. as to JLB's haircut...all I can say is...there goes another one. BTW, does he really do four beats at once with each limb doing > separate tempos? T. Bozzio is a god on drums. He's from the early (70's) school of prog/fusion playing. Yes, he can do ANYTHING with seperate limbs and tempo's---- I've got a instructional video of his where he demonstrates a SICK level of limb seperation. He worked with Jeff Beck a bunch. Check out "Beck's Guitar Shop". Then he did some "radio" stuff w/Missing Persons in the 80's. Question. Who has drummer Dean Castronovo worked with ? Which CD's should I get to hear more of his prog/fusion playing ? He ROCKS on Working Man !! I mean DAMN, he's a hot one !! God dammit > Steve Z NO SHIT !!! I saw this guy with Extreme and I was COMPLETELY blown away....talk about limb independance !! I've never seen a drum kit like his either ! His mount toms didn't sweep to either side in descending size !! Smallest was center, then they alternated !! Like nothing I've EVER seen !! How does one describe this....let's see...6" center, 8" right, 10" left, 12" right, 14" left etc.....he'd play left handed a while, then right handed then half and half !! I mean he'd ride with left hand and sometimes use his LEFT foot for bass drum, then he'd use his right foot, then he'd ride with right hand and switch feet back and forth!! It was a TOTAL mind fuck for a drummer to see !! You should've seen him go around his toms !! He's start at the center (smallest) and seperate his hands right hand going right and left hand going left each hitting the toms twice....kinda like half a double stroke roll per hand FAST. Ok. Enough outta me...but drummers If you EVER get a chance to see this man play...GO SEE HIM !!! Any other jammers in South Carolina ?? But even though I think Graham's response was a little overdone, I have to agree with the sentiment. If you go through life looking for evils like this, of course you're going to find a few. If the band was called "We Are Superior", and was a bunch of skinheads singing songs about racial hate, I might even agree with the assessment.
