Frankly, I'm amazed it took this long for someone to come up with the idea of threatening this kind of thing. Whatever action you decide to take about this, the discussion and decision should be kept within the confines of Prism records. And enticing your "friends" on the list to potentially take action against this person on your behalf, and/or threatening this person with bodily harm is downright juvenile. I daresay your associates among Mesa's finest would not look kindly upon such threats, thinly veiled though they may have been. _____Pat Sullivan_____________________________________________ E-mail: (psull)-(at)-(ici)-(dot)-(net) IRC: DDictator WWW: http://www.just-like.nu/ NP: Removed because Jon Kretchmer said so. ______________________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 20 Feb 1998 01:07:14 -0700 From: Ryan Roehrich To: email_address_removed Subject: Fan Club Message-ID: Hello all! Just got my fan club starter pack also. I sent my check in around the middle of November or so. Very cool packet of stuff, however, no cd :( Is the cd usually sent separate from the rest? Or did I join too late and they ran out of cd's? Also, does the fan club packet get sent out of just the london office or also thru the new york office? Just curious, mine was sent out of England. Anyhow, I'm really impressed with the mag..lot of cool info in there..specially the run down of Mike's kit from time to time :) Ryan ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Feb 1998 12:40:04 -0700 From: email_address_removed (Charoenkwan Luesumphan) To: email_address_removed Subject: Magna Carta's URL Message-ID: Andrew wrote; >The magna carta web site is nonexistent for some reason. I didn't think they were that rare, but everytime I offer them up for trade, I ALWAYS get a positive response. If you are interested in the following, we can set up a trade. If you don't have anything to trade, but are still interested, let me know if you are interested in buying it. I wouldn't expect much, but I would like to make sure that I have material and shipping costs covered, as well as a little extra for my time (would you want to make 40 video copies and break even, that's more than a regular work week of effort there!) If you do have a trade, it is just a matter of we each buy the same tape and use the same shipping method so neither of us feels ripped off. Okay, here's the meat: 1 - VIDEO of John Petrucci at MI on December 9, 1994. This tape is phenomenal. Unreleased music and off the cuff leads. In depth Q&A. References to the newly departed Kevin Moore and fresh Derek Shernian. Up close, stable video of Petrucci as well as clean, clear sound. My copy is 2nd generation - straight of the original. I was at this show and I can say there is no better representation of this show than this tape! 2 - TAB of When Dream and Day Unite (less the song The Ones Who Help to Set the Sun) These is a Japanese Tab book with Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboard, and vocal melody transcribed. In a word - complete. Now you only have to worry if the drummer can read music, as opposed to figure out these songs. I also have TAB of IAW (less Learning to Live) and Awake (less The Mirror) in the same complete band format. I don't know why the Japanese versions always manage to leave out one song, but I would rather tell you upfront than have you set up a trade for one of these and find out the only song you really cared about was Learning to Live and it isn't included. But - I've never seen another Tab book this complete. 3. Various Young Guitar Articles. One with Petrucci giving excerpts from each of the 3 of 4 complete albums - IAW, Awake, and FII. Myung also has his own excerpt section for IAW and Awake. These are only about 6 pages each, so these are more extras than full on trades. Okay there it is. I only listed the items which I think are quality trades. I have some DT bootlegs, but the sound or camera angle are just too annoying for me personally. I guess they are good for bootlegs, but not good for regular viewing. With that said, I am interested in the following videos, tab books, complete collection of MTV style videos, or guitar videos from the following: Dream Theater (of course) Savatage George Lynch (Dokken and more importantly - Lynch Mob and solo) Yngwie Malmsteen Tony MacAlpine Marty Friedman (Cacophony days) Jason Becker (anything at all) Magellan Haji's Kitchen Thanks ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Feb 1998 16:49:00 -0500 From: "Tedesco, Matthew" To: ytsejam Subject: common thuggery Message-ID: ---------- ]From: email_address_removed To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: YTSEJAM digest 3562 Date: Thursday, February 19, 1998 2:43PM >> Sorry for using up the bandwidth. You got anything more interesting to post? alright now, this is getting all too nutty. mike has lots of good reasons to be super pissed, with this kid threatening him and all. ok, so mike's running a business that's not entirely legal, but he has an understanding with his clients. someone, though, gets bent out of shape, and all of a sudden there's thuggery and whatnot. sounds like a bookie operation, doesn't it? before anyone is sleeping with the fishes or ends up with a horse's head in their bed, i mean, let's just relax with this. really, i can see all of the prism records updates and the 'jam--they do fall within the parameters of it, because it involves bootleg trading (even if the trade is boot for cash). this, though, is a simple business problem, complicated by the fact that the business is illegal. lots of people are involved in businesses, some illegal, and lots of people have business problems. respect the people who handle the problems with class. i guess i'm upset because, though mike's work may not be entirely legal, he's always handled himself with class and grace. now, it's pretty disappointing. all of a sudden, mike comes across like a common criminal, a common thug. i'm willing to chalk it up, becuase mike probably just was screaming bloody murder in (understandable) anger. make, if you've calmed down, please give all of us neutral folks (not pro-prism or anti-prism) a reason to at least respect you again. --MATt ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Feb 1998 16:53:25 EST From: Nicholas Bogovich To: email_address_removed Cc: email_address_removed Subject: MP3: New Millennium (live) Message-ID: Hey everyone, The subject says it all.
