All those interested about the history of 'classical' music, and the limitations that many composers faced, etc.. Read 'Genesis of a Music' by Harry Partch. This guy pretty much does away with the Western musical system, (and equal temperament). And his system makes a lot more sense once you get the hang of it. No Ticketmaster. Which means, basically, that you won't get to see her play unless you camp out on the sidewalk in front of some club box office for like a week.
