Nah, I won't give you the satisfaction. I justwant to know how people can support you ripping ona fan who asked a simple question only requiring a simple answer. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know that, I'm just the only one that spoke up. Excuse me. Several Jammers were nice enough to just simply answer me by private mal. I thank those people. It's people like you that can't help a fan out that make this list a disgrace to DT sometimes. I betif I said something about AMBIS a lot of people wouldn't know what it was, or BV or LFAGA. You learn by asking questions, not by sitting in an ignorant state. And my name isn't Forskin. As for poor grammer and shit, I'd probably score higher in any spelling and grammer test than you ever would. Most of it's my damned keys sticking. SPOILERS Message-ID: Whoah, I just returned from the Madison show, and it kicked ass! Some small spoilers follow Well, the sound at the Barrymore was great compared to the Milwaukee show for one thing. Big Wreck played to a decidely warmer audience than in Milwaukee, which seemed to really catch tem by surprise. I enjoyed their set much more this time, I think because of the sound and I was up front and center for the entire show. But on to DT. Set list went through some more tinkering; They played UAGM instead of TAMP, Lie was played, Scarred was dropped, The Silent Man was played (electric, with subtle changes) and the end parts of ACOS were dropped. Hopefully someone who grabbed a setlist will post something more accurate. Crowd response was pretty good as well, and the turnout was decent for a Tue. night. At the end of Metropolis, Mike went into Metallica-One as usual, but this time James turned the microphone on him and he sang two verses of One while he was playing it! Quite funny :) After they were done playing, I handed a tape of the Holyfield-Moorer fight to Labrie, while they where doing the high-fives with the crowd. So that should make Mikey happy! It was great to see some Jammers there; hello to Matt Mommaerts and Scott Hansen, good seeing you again! A great evening in all... I think this could be called a success for DT's first visit to the Mad-City. Hopefully they will consider returning in '98! laters! | email_address_removed | ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Nov 1997 00:38:05 -0600 (CST) From: Loren Caler To: email_address_removed Subject: Lie single Message-ID: Well this is just for kicks but: If ANYONE can wither buy me a copy (I'll pay them back with a check), or sell me a copy of the Lie single, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY apreciate it! In the interest of fairness, let's point out that Graham's posts are full of grammatical errors, while Mr. Fors' posts have nothing more than some words run together - typos rather than ignorance of english. Message-ID: Hi, Been lurking - actually been shit busy at work, so my first post for a while... Girls and good music - the only combination of things to look for, I guess I'm just lucky that my wife likes the same stuff as me (she's just a little excited about the London gig on the 9th of December). In fact she quite often goes for heavier stuff than me - I'll want a bit of Yes and she'll insist on Megadeth - so there you have it. As for obscure bands - this subject is weird 'cause not many people I know have heard of DT - anyway I would say It Bites - probably the "Once Around The World" album, I know I've mentioned them before and I'm afraid they are no longer but you must check them out (kinda prog-pop-rock...). You're right, things must be VERY different over there in South America compared to here in Australia. Wow, a chick bassist with a passion for odd-time sigs. Come holiday here in Aus, we need more variety over here.... :-) On another topic, does anyone know what happened to that supposedly 'up and coming' band called Power Of Omens ? (POO, such an unfortunate acronym) Was I the only one who thought that their demo taped showed some serious potential ? I mean the recording was a bit raw, but IMHO, only better things were destined to come to these guys. Their dedication to promoting their band via their own hard work and determination was impressive to say the least. As far as music goes, while their influences (DT, FW, QR, Yes, Kansas) were both obvious and subtle at times, I believe the end result was actually quite unique. The drummer's training with Mark Zonder is definately evident in the band's rythym department, he's truly a monster with his kit. The last time I emailed the guitarist (who's address I unfortunately lost), he said they were having a few troubles with contracts or something and were in the process of signing with DCA records (I think ??). Anyone got any info ? Until the eleventh hour calls.... Message-ID: Hello again. This is a question that's probably been asked before here, but I don't always read the jams beginning to end (mmm, index), so here goes: I was wondering if there are any prog _rock_ bands out there with female singers? I don't mean people like Tori Amos or anything (not that I have anything against her, just not quite what I'm asking for right now), but a band with a metal-sounding feel to it with a female vocalist. I know, they're rare as ... well, they're really rare. But for some reason, I was thinking the other day, and wanted to find a band like this. So, call me impulsive. Anyway, if there's anything out there that anyone thinks might fit my description, let me know. Thanks! Not ALL girls are like this. Plus, if you think about it, it's not just girls. Ask the majority of people on the street what music they like, and they'll answer with some crappy music from the radio or eMpTyV. The majority of music out there is crappy, so there's logically a higher percentage of people out there who like it.
