Of my four favorite bands, Rush and Queensryche have both decided that Oklahoma City isn't worth their time anymore, so I hafta drive to Dallas to see them. But I held some solace in the fact that DT has historically played a lot in Oklahoma, and I felt sure that they'd come here... then I check the web site. St. Louis. :P That's eight hours from here. The Ytsejam is not only a list dedicated to DT, but is > also a list that carries a lot discussion about boots, other prog metal > bands, and the occaisional tard newbie like yourself. This list was never intended as a forum for auction. I completely agree with Jim that this shit is kind of scammy, though Bogie is a good friend of mine. I don't believe that anyone should profit off boots like that. It's bullshit. Set a price, and sell to the first person who can pay it. That's how I feel. If you don't agree, I'm going to cry. If you're going to auction, at the very least, I would expect people not to re-post the same auction bullshit. Put it on a damn web page so those of us who find it distasteful don't have to see people pay way to much for a bootleg. It is no better than spam. > Listen you shithead, a couple members of the band has copies of EACH of > those disks he's selling. Tsk Tsk Tsk. Are we back in the "You fucking FuckFuck" school of posting? How about you remove your anus from the keyboard now? I'm sick of having to read your shit. This post should have been private, if sent at all. And the band isn't all in favor of boots. We're not going to drag that argument up again, but I'm not letting you use that as a security blanket. There are members of the band who disagree with what Bahr does. > Well, YOU, in your babylike whining, His post was immature... but yours was infantile. > just increased the noise > level of this list with your pitiful cries. How could YOU POSSIBLY say this? Re read your post, big guy. I don't like writing posts like this anymore. I'd like to see some semblance of unity back on this list. We have a big tour to attend, and there's a lot of great things we can accomplish if we work together (The Chicago Show Attendees are going to have a party after the show). Sometimes it's easy to get irritated at immature posts, but that's not an excuse for writing immature posts yourself. We all have Dream Theater in common. If we met each other at a show, we'd all hang out and have a great time. There's no reason to make this list a battleground anymore. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Oct 1997 13:32:01 -0400 From: Lobsterback To: email_address_removed Subject: Secrets of the 'Jam Message-ID: >Mike Portnoy wrote (supposedly): >> Still waiting on confirmations for Springfield, Va., Providence, RI, and >> possibly Washington DC >Isn't Springfield, VA and DC the same city? In case some people are wondering what 'Spinning Years' is, it's a single disc containing 6 complete double-disc Dream Theater bootlegs, all in CD-quality (128kbps, 44kHz) MP3 format. It contains 'Dance of Eternity', 'Lost in the Sky', 'Mind Control', 'A Kick into a Dream', 'Uncovered', and 'Caught in Amsterdam '97'. For more information, go to: http://www.geocities.com/soho/2236 'Spinning Years' is one jam-packed disc; it tops the supposed CD-R limit of 650MB. It weighs in at nearly 652MB (nearly 12 hours of pure music). For all you tech-heads out there, is this a dangerous thing to do to go over the limit? Or is the printed 650MB limit just an estimate (which is what I've heard)? I haven't had any problems whatsoever being able to read the entire disc, and I have received no complaints in e-mail that their discs don't work, so I'm guessing everything is alright. I have a ton of 'Spinning Years' discs available. 'Seven Wonders', my other MP3 Dream Theater boot, is getting close to sailing into history, so get your copy now. Also still available are the 'Caught in Amsterdam '97' replicas, the best pre-FII tour boot available. All discs will be shipped off the day I receive payment (the above quote is a testament of that). Coming soon, 24 hours of Van Halen. Wooo! D. I always thought "May you die on your own blade." was a much better death wish. Or "May you accidently fall into a swimming pool of broken glass and drown." I guess that's a sign that the inventiveness has fallen out of the older generation. (Excluding Jon Parmet of course.) Now, as for Jim here, this is a good time to remind people that if you have a complaint about someone, its better to take it to private email than to post it to the entire jam, because you just might be wrong. Then one of us has to go and cut off your feet and serve them to you in a nice hollandaise sauce with roasted armadillo roadkill and a castor oil chaser. Not a tasty meal. Right, Jim? But, on another interesting note I failed to mention before, while I was looking over that Sneak Peek machine, I noticed that it had a clip of Paula Cole on it. Pretty ironic considering that Wal-Mart won't carry this CD, due to the nude picture of Paula on the cover (even though all the "exciting" parts are covered up by a flame rising up from under her). Plus, that had at leat 30 copies of Janet Jackson's "Velvet Rope," which has some very explicit sexual lyrics (can you say potential high sales dollars?). I feel any given store has the right to decide what type of products they will carry and won't, but Wal-Mart seems to have a little consistancy problem in the music area. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Oct 1997 13:56:21 -0400 From: "Blevins, Mike" To: "'ytsejam'" Subject: New Millennium Message-ID: You know, it'll be interesting to see if James sings the monotone lines in the verse & chorus, or if he uses the actual vocal line that's buried behind it....
