When passing these dates on, please mention (and you can quote me) that these dates are only "scratching the surface & testing the waters". I know everybody from Texas & Florida to France & Finland are gonna be screaming: "HEY, WHAT ABOUT US??!!" It is impossible for us to be in 5 places at once, so these dates are only a starter and we will do more extensive runs of the U.S., Europe, and everywhere else in the world throughout 1998. Important request from DT to the fans all over: Please keep the phone call to your local radio stations coming! DEMAND to hear Dream Theater. Let them know there's a record buying audience out there that doesn't neccessarily want to hear Bush, Prodigy or No Doubt for the 2000th time. (Although they'll swear that that's all anybody wants to hear.....) Remember, Tours are booked by interest in a particular market usually based upon radio play. If you can get your radio stations to crank DT, chances are that the radio play will spark enough demand for a gig in the future.... (That's why the Images & Words tour hit every city in America) That being said, It's time to hit the road!!! C-y'all out there and I'll try to keep you up to date as the info comes in. What was my surprise when I turned the TV this Saturday afternoon, and, passing through the MTV Brazil channel I heard the chord from "The Silent Man". Incredible, a whole program (it's called "Fúria", similar to "Headbanger's Ball") for DT!!! Also there were interviews with the guys, from the tour they just made around here. Unfortunately, I missed most of the program, and watched only the last two parts, on which were played "The Silent Man", "Lie" and Stratovarius' "The Kiss of Judas". And, talking about Stratovarius, they'll be making a tour around here in November, dates as follow: - November 1st: Salvador / BA - November 2nd: Recife / PE - November 4th: Rio de Janeiro / RJ - November 6th: São Paulo / SP (acoustic show) - November 7th: São Paulo / SP I have already my tickets for the Nov 7th show, which will be, if I'm not mistaken, at the "Galpão Fábrica". If anyone has info about the acoustic show on the 6th (where I can buy tickets, where will it be), please drop me a line. I heard the dates on MTV's "Fúria", so the only one I'm sure about is the Nov 7th, for which I have the ticket. :) Also, I'll be searching Megadeth's and Queensrÿche's site for possible tour dates here in December. If someone has info on that too, the e-mail is below. :) BTW, I'm pretty damn pissed because I couldn't go downtown today to buy "Merry Axemas". There've been some riots down there, police all around, not a cool place to go these days... Also, to finish this post... I'd like some opinion's, reviews, suggestions about some bands I've always heard about but never listened to: Candlemass and Blind Guardian.
