Message-ID: Hi all last night I was listening to 'Falling Into Infinity' (I had nothing better to do). My favourite track (apart from the awful guest appearance of Doug Pillock) 'Lines In The Sand' was playing, when suddenly around the 6 minute 30 second mark I thought "I know this from somewhere else". Then it struck me - 'Do You Feel Like We Do' from the 70s album 'Frampton Comes Alive'. Anybody else hear this? But then I guess I'm not entitled to say things like this, since I don't play an instrument myself, and only other musicians are qualified to voice an opinion about music... stay safe and happy listening Neil Gallop (nga@software-ag.de) Currently playing: Vanden Plas - The God Thing ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Sep 1997 09:06:41 EDT From: "Adrian Holmes GBC3F73F@IBMMAIL" To: email_address_removed Subject: Get FII In The U.K. N-O-W ! Message-ID: Sorry about all the confusion regarding Petrucci in Guitar World. It just seemed I had gotten the most recent issue with Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones on the cover. I know Petrucci wasn't in that one. But I just got the issue with Petrucci in it. Does kind of shed some light on the whole album, but I think this is one of the shortest interviews I've ever seen in Guitar World. I'm glad to see that he is coming back in a regular column. Thought I would have to let my subscription go with all the "wonderful" music they've been printing since Petrucci left. ----------------------------- On a different note, I was listening to Anna Lee the other day (which is an awesome song IMO). You can hear someone breathing at the beginning of the song and other strange noises (as someone has already brought up on the Jam). At the end of the song, it sounds like someone is typing on a typewriter. I started thinking that maybe this was a guy lamenting over someone named Anna Lee. He sits down at a typewriter to express his feelings. He sighs, then begins. The whole song is him pouring out his feelings on a typewriter about Anna Lee. The song finishes with him typing. Does anyone else hear these sounds? At first I thought it was strange that those breath sounds were at the beginning, because one time it sounds too distracting like they meant for people to hear it. Also, the beginning sounds very airy, like no noise reduction. Again, it seems like they are trying to create a mood. I'd be interested in what others think about the meaning of the song. \\||// ~~..'~ ( \ ) Brandon Vaughn \ c/ __\/__ "The Mad Tabber" / \ _< . _ \ email_address_removed \ `\ \ -' / \ \ ,,,_ >|""O[|||||nn[:::< email_address_removed /_,--- ._\ '''''~ ~ | | | | | ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Sep 1997 14:45:06 -0700 From: Kssa Lajos To: email_address_removed Subject: Greetings! You see, it goes like this: You've just finished listening for the Nth time to it. You gently remove the sacred object from the player, gently place it back in the protective transport container, and proceed to move on to the next place you happen to be going. The Problem: The music has stopped playing, but the dream is still in your head :) You catch yourself singing, humming, moving about in strange time signatures; and then, instead of paying attention to what you are supposed to, it happens: YOU DROP THE CASE!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! So there you have it. FII is evil! FII is not conducive to proper thought patterns! FII causes attention deficit disorder! FII is bad fucking news!!! You can't claim it on your renter's insurance policy. I urge you all, do not recommend this disc to your friends. It's nothing but bad luck. DT doesn't need the success anyways, right? We now have a lot of DTC to speak of, and we're still fighting about the fuckin FAQ. D-man, I can understand where you're coming from as far as the work involved with maintaining the FAQ, but you have to stop crucifying the people who ask a question that the FAQ covers. I think your job as the FAQ maintainer should include posting a particular section of the FAQ that's relevant to the question asked. Meaning, if someone asks what is the Hamlet quote in PMU, post section 6.8 of the FAQ, instead of using the same bandwidth arguing with the guy, and subsequently intimidating him never to post or even leave the list. I know that's not your problem, but I think we need to be a lot more lenient, especially when the question is DT related. You just flipped a nut over the Hamlet quote, but didn't say anything about the useless waste of bandwidth that went on about 3 months ago. WTF? If these types of questions are so offensive to you, I'll run the fucking FAQ.
