Message-ID: I'm annoyed. The person/people who printed out the lyrics in the FII booklet must have been smokin' some industrial strengthed weed! There are A TON of mistakes. YOU NOT ME: - "TELLING(should be SELLING) me lines I've already read." - "It's all ABOUTYOU not me." - "and all that YOUIRE expecting me to give." - "It's all ABOU you not me." PERUVIAN SKIES - "I'm taking all of this TIME(???) with me when I go." BURNING MY SOUL - "and you ask me why my HAIRS (should be HAIR'S) gray." LINES IN THE SAND - "SOMETIME (should be SOMETIMES) we dig an early grave" ANNA LEE - "To steal from you the INNOCENSE that bleeds." This simply should not have happened. The Spell Checker was invented a long time ago and proofreading is certainly not a new concept. Reading the lyrics to YNM for the first time was painful. ~-~Jon Dery~-~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Sep 1997 17:58:09 -0400 From: "Tony Gonzalez" To: Message-ID: This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0002_01BCCC38.14892B60 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Subscribe ------=_NextPart_000_0002_01BCCC38.14892B60 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

I really disagree with you on this. I suppose that you don't play any instrument, because if you did, you'd notice the complexity of I&W compared to Master of Puppets. I think I&W is on a much higher level than any album from Metallica. (Don't know this Morningrise you mention). I like Metallica, and I have the MoP CD. In fact, it was one of the first CDs I learned to play (I'm a bassist). Metallica used to be one of my favorite bands, until I discovered I&W and the rest of DT's albums. They made me change my perspective of what a musician should be. If I were a member of DT, and some fan mentioned that I&W was "as good as Master of Puppets", I would feel very dissapointed knowing that there are people out there who can't distinguish between a piece of gold and a piece of wood. As some of you know, I maintain a very popular Dream Theater website, called 'Under A Cyber Moon'. On the European release date of 'Falling Into Infinity', I realized Dream Theater had changed... matured. That made me realize how dated 'Under A Cyber Moon' looked, and decided to rebuild the site from scratch giving it a fresher and more consistent look. All the old 'ingredients' are still there, though. (news, FAQ, bio's, discography, songbook, tabs, midi's, programs, #Ytsejam page). Some of us fans are still under the impression > that bands like Dream Theater care what their supporters think. Sure, Dream Theater probably does care about what their SUPPORTERS think... It's just that there don't seem to be many of them on the Ytsejam right now. There are more "Dream Theater fans" BASHING FII for whatever reason, than there are people bashing the Spice Girls for not having ANY musical talent at all... You know, criticism is not neccesarily a bad thing, but the shit some Jammers have posted is just TOO MUCH. Most people would not even bitch that much about bands that they HATE. Dream Theater sure are lucky, with fans like that (I wanted to put the word fans in quotes, but that would have fucked up my perfectly left and right justified paragraph !). :-) I suggest everyone takes a deep breath, before they post something that could cause three extra digests of flaming. I, for one, grew out of my "cock rock" phase years ago. But I suppose if I were some rock 'n' roll slut I'd be shaking my booty and bumping and grinding with the rest of 'em if I wanted to. Stuff he's done with Aerosmith *does* have a groove and gives you almost no choice but to move about in a sexually suggestive manner, so I guess I can see why someone would make that observation. However, "You Not Me" is NOT such a song. I have WAY too much respect for DT than to give away lap dances in the middle of their set. Let the "groupie types" (who don't belong at prog shows in the first place) do *that* shit. Does that answer your question? Go out and find stuff you like(and don't judge music by which stuff your friends like). There's a lot of music out there. I'm sure you'll like something.
