Doesn't Galatic Cowboys' "If I Were a Killer" also have a pro-life vibe. I don't want to start abortion as a topic of discussion here on the jam, I just want to address that song as having a pro-life stance. Iffin' that's the same Matt Guillory as the aforementioned (and I don't think that's such a common name), here's another DAMN good reason to check out Bellas's album on Shrapnel Records. They keys are just as psycho as the guitars on this disc. Maybe a preview of what we can expect on Chaos Theory's album? > dynamic range. The drumming is verrry thin and does not > draw me into the rhythmic changes the band does introduce > from time to time. You'll be pleased to hear that they have a new drummer. Chris Ingles and friends are working on a site, as I mentioned before, at http://www.prognosis.com/shadow/ Can't get much more official than from the band directly :) That's where you'll wanna look for the new samples pretty soon. Uh, you may wanna check the latest 97 tour schedule for the Village People at: http://www.gryphon.com/village-people/ Sorry, couldn't resist :) Lycos is just too damn much fun sometimes! I can certainly take a joke :) but in all seriousness: Glam is a trend, just like flannel was to the Seattle and Boston music scenes (although that is dead too!) The music of this period was excellent. It's some of the best stuff (talent wise) that ever came out. If you listen to the stuff that you either: 1. Threw away 2. Stuck away in your closet hoping that some day it'll be cool again 3. Sold in your yard sale for .25 a tape :) 4. Can't find You will see that this stuff is actually really good. My buddy turned me back onto this stuff. He believes that the 80's will never die! I agree now. If you look beyond the big hair and women's clothing, you might see the talent. :) The Village people are not to be compared to the 80's, they were disco. Glam is 80's metal. Come on man! Humm.. that's why there's a fuqing faq somewhere. For all of you interested in, it's on www.regra.com.br/musica/angra/ If you are lazy (me?) here's the verses: 9. What do they sing in the beggining of "Carolina IV"? ------------------------------------------------------- They sing two choruses in Portuguese in the beggining of "Carolina IV". According to Rafael, here's what they sing: "Salve salve Iemanjá, Salve Janaína E tudo o que se fez n'água Jogam flores para o mar Deus salve a Rainha E o meu traço nessa esfera... Um caboclo de orixás Logo deixa a Terra Vai de encontro à sua sina Onde o céu encontra o mar Achará seu porto E é assim que isso termina..." Speaking Of Superior-Any of you Jammers who haven't ordered this from Dream Disc need to do so. It's only about 13 bucks and worth twice that. Very heavy, very melodic and it grabs you right away and never lets go. My only wish-More solos next time guys ; ) Question for the Jammers Thinkin about ordering Symphony X Divine Wings. Just wanted to tell you that I'm still alive... :) For any people who need some information about Superior, have a look at http://gaia.owl.de/~fine/superior.html This is (one of) our homepage(s) and you find a lot of info there about our band (people, pictures, soundclips, lyrics, Newsletters, ...). If you have any problems to find our album feel free to email me at email_address_removed.de and I'll send you some addresses where you can find it. Thanks to all people who wrote so positive things about our band recently. You rock! :) Just to let you all know... we're currently writing some new songs (just recorded a few on 8-track) for the next album. We're going to be in studio again from the 8th December on and the next album will be out in Feb./March next year. Ok. All for now. Maybe I should read the jams more often... :) Bye. Aren't you paying attention to that opening *zzziiip*? Geez, everyone thinks that that's something being UNzipped, but it's obviously not. It's a woman zipping up a jumpsuit so she can go skydiving. She just likes to give blowjobs WHILE skydiving... Whoah, dude... I just, like, discovered how to surpass the "unsurpassable" adrenalin-rush skydivers are always talking about... Be right back... > I saw an interview with Nikki after they fired Vince Neil Wharton and > he said they fired him because Vince wanted to go in the direction of > bands like Poison, and they wanted to get heavier. I heard they were planning on going heavy right after the release of Dr. Feelgood. Nikki Sixx said, before the tour even began, "our next album is going to be total balls-to-the-wall heavy stuff" which I inferred to mean, "there won't be any feathery 'time for change' shit on our next album." As for why Vince was kicked out of the band, I heard and read in an interview with the band that "basically he wanted to race cars more than he wanted to play music." This statement was partially true as Vince Neil was a big racecar-driving fanatic, though I think at one point all rock/ metal musicians have had their picture taken in a Pennzoil 1 Racer... However, this statement was driven back into Motley Crue's face like a railroad spike not six months later when Vince Neil bounced back onto the scene with "You're Invited But Your Friend Can't Come" on the soundtrack to "Encino Man." So yeah, the boys told Vince to Get The Hell Out Of Here, but there they were without a vocalist for MONTHS and here was Vince Neil on heavy MTV rotation with the video, which featured the members of the band Ted Nugent is in now, the name of which I can't remember... > The Crue changed their look with every album, but the music pretty much > stayed the same. TFFL (Leathur) and SATD are great, after that they > should've just quit. Satanic with gothic makeup and bizarre shoulder-pad devices. Glamorous runway models. Leather-clad badboys with motorcycles. Asylum residents surrounded by voluptuous nurses with large syringes (though I'm not sure exactly what trend they were trying to set with that one). As it is I'm not sure how much guys like Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee could "change" their images as their arms are somewhat covered with graffitti. Not unlike a NEW YORK SUBWAY.
