OK, poor humor, but I just couldn't help it. The quote "gather ye rosebuds while ye may..." is from Robert Herrick, but I can't remember the name of the poem as for Sieze the Day... your guess is as good as mine. OK, the way Mike explained it (and I thought this explanation had found its way to the jam several times) was that the folks at East/West had not booked any studio time for the band, and wasn't going to in the forseeable future. Why is anyone's guess, but you can assume it's because they're not "trendy." This has changed, thanks in part to the petition that was sent to the record label. Mike told me (and I know I forwarded this to the list) that the band expects to be in the studio sometime soon after returning from Europe. > And about Manson, I'm saying that I see them as a progressive metal band > because they are experimenting with different sounds and I think they are > unique and talented. My post had nothing to do with anger towards anyone > on the jam, I just didn't like the way jeremy had 'banned' discussing You're entitled to your opinion. I don't like MM, but that's not why I went off on that part of your post. I went off on them because I don't think they're prog. Prog is a real nebulous category - there's a lot of people on rec.music.progressive that would rather not think about prog metal as being progressive. > manson. What I am angry about is that Jeff Chew's lifting shadows page was > great, and now that red sector a took it over and it became the official DT > page it's turned to shit.. trying to sell overpriced DT merchandise on the > page and when I read the update section it sounds so pompous and worthless. Jeff's page was great, and the RSA page is great. The only difference is that now the page serves somewhat as the "official" voice of the band, so they really can't go off on a rant about the record label the way our personal pages can. As for the merchandise, they're doing a great service to people that weren't able to attend the shows in December (perhaps like you), or who were there and couldn't afford to buy anything then (like me). > for example, they referred to themselves as 'management' on the last > update they wrote about european tour merchandise. I'd actually be more willing to bet that it's the NMS. There are two big-time hella-cool Rush web pages. 1) the NMS (http://syrinx.umd.edu/rush). Great info on stuff that's already happened, but they have a real bad tendency to post rumors and half-truths regarding the future. 2) ASOF (http://www.asof.com). Less old-style content (like the FAQ, the bootleg page, etc), but *current* info is always what comes down from on high at Anthem. Basically, it breaks down like this: If you see it on the NMS page, it might come true (it often has before). If you see it on ASOF, it already has come true. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Digital Man \|/ ____ \|/ Secretary & Webmaster email_address_removed "@'/ ,. \`@" UVM Comp Sci Student Assn email_address_removed /_| \__/ |_\ "He won't need a bed http://www.emba.uvm.edu/~cmerlo \__U_/ He's a digital man" - Peart ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Maintainer of the Official Dream Theater Frequently Asked Questions List http://www.emba.uvm.edu/~cmerlo/dtfaq.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Apr 1997 15:31:04 -0700 From: email_address_removed (Dr. Mosh) To: email_address_removed Subject: Re: song on Guitar Talkin Message-ID: On the Eve of Destruction, email_address_removed said: >The song mentioned as the Untitled track is called "Where are you Now" and is >very good.
