Whoever wants to be a part of it could send an ADAT of whatever they think they can do really well according to the specifications, etc.... It may be a pain in the ass with a lot of mail coming your way, but this way you don't exile people who actually may do it better or with better sound quality, etc....plus, on the package they put down the instrument and song....You can file them, and when it comes to that song, you can see which parts fit best within the whole scheme of things.... I want to commend all of you who have put forth the initiative to cast your vote for a new Dream Theater album. We're not there yet, though. We will need to assemble even more entries here than the petition for ACoS had. It's a fact... if EastWest sees LESS interest in this album than in ACoS, they're not going to care one way or another about the band. I can't stress this enough, how important it is that you ALL sign. The Ytsejam has to be the main force behind this petition, because we're the primary forum for Dream Theater discussion. This is our duty to complete. We are the most active Dream Theater fans on the planet, and we should be proud of that. I need anyone who has information about the ACoS petition to come forward and post here or write me in e mail about strategies and tactics used in that campaign. I really want a count of how many signatures were on that petition. I have to ask some of you who are on the Dream Theater newsgroup frequently to push the issue there as well. We need as much coverage as possible. I want to send this petition in two weeks, and that gives us little time to advertise. Thanks for your help *** http://www.prognosis.com/petition *** BTW, some people were having difficulty accessing the site. If you're not able to get there for some reason, first try: http://www.prognosis.com/petition/index.html and if that fails, write me at email_address_removed. Any assistance I can give, I will. Like other people have indicated, I am proud to be a part of this whole tribute thing. My request is this. I've been in touch with Vince Lupone about some songs, and TTT is on the list. I believe that TTT is one of the cornerstone songs in the DT library. AS far as I know now, there is only me on drums and AR Bell on guitar. I'm asking if anyone can play the song on bass, keys, or sing it, let vince know @ email_address_removed or let me know at: email_address_removed I'd love to see this song make it on the Tribute. C.Impellitteri released 3 full album and 1 mini album after the depurture from G.Bonnet. First release was "Grin And Bear It" fronted by his original vocalist Rob Rock (known as his works with T. Macapine,A.Rudi Pell). Standard hard rock album like P.Gilbert always plays. (JVC-Victor 1992) The second one was 5 tracks ep called "Victim Of The System". Recommending one! He went back to neo-classical style. The first track 'Victim Of The System' rocks. Very speedy and technical song. And you'll love ballad 'Cross To Bear'. (JVC-Victor 1993) And the next one was "Answer To The Master" album. Impressive! He expanded "VOTS" ep. So the same style with that album. Deffinetely his masterpiece. (JVC-Victor 1994) Finally, the latest one was titled "Screaming Symphony". The same style with former one. But a bit non-polished. (JVC-Victor,Music For Nations 1996) So here's his complete (Except compilation stuff) Impellitteri (4track ep) Stand In Line (1st) those 2 discs are still available from Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Grin And Bear It (2nd) Victim Of The System (5track ep) Answer To The Master (3rd) Screaming Symphony (4th) those catalogues are from JVC-Victor Entertainment. SS album are also available from Music For Nations. Thanks. At 8:37 AM 97.2.14 -0800, Chung Ng wrote: >Does anyone remember a guy named Chris Impelliterri? After all, he has set up a studio and actually called the guy involved, which is paramount to simply picking songs. He has also said that he is not adverse to any song being in there as long as there are people to fill it out. It doesn't seem like he's the one being the control freak. So with all due respect Jazzmin, having an idea is one thing, executing it is another. So would someone care to tell Jazzmin whose idea this really was last year (or was it the year before)? I ask only one thing: If Space Dye Vest is going to be on the album, I be allowed to have some part in it. Someone claimed the guitar and vocals, I'd do either. I can also do the keys if given the music two weeks in advance, and the bass as well. Please let me in on this one. I beg of you... Enuff of the formalities: It's truly hysterical that a) guitarists are a dime a dozen, and 2) all of 'em want to contribute to this album, myself included. Unfortunately, only the meatiest chops survive the butcher, so... I want to play the triangle! Or the shotgun (Metallifans know what I"m talkin' about here). Another problem that I know Vince is gonna face (seriously, I've been in his dorm room) is all the fookin' mail he's gonna have to handle. Please split up the chores here; have Jazzmin carry out the east coast operations and Vince the southwest operations, and maybe even a third collaberation on this thing. A double CD may be what comes out of this whole thing if we get enough blood, sweat, studio time and dead rodents. The whole thing looked fantastic until somebody (Jazzmin) stomped on another person's (Vince) foot. "All ya need is love." Come on here, can't we all just get along? Second topic: (NDTC) Are there decent sound adapters/peripherals for Macintosh? Are they better or worse than PC? I'm thinking of buying a Mac over a PC, 'cuz quite simply, I'm a studio artist who's studying varying forms of animation. So ya might see the connection there. It'd also be nice if I could get myself recorded onto the danged thing (This is where ytse-computer people come in). I heard Steve Vai mastered his new album, "Fire Garden" on a Mac. Message-ID: Hello, Ok, this is the thing so far... I will be out this weekend until Monday, so any e-mail you send will not be read until then. I'm planing to do some preliminary recordings (nothing final) next weekend with some jammers from AZ, I'm going to make a wav file out of this and send it to the JAM. This is just to give people and idea of what it will probably sound like. I'm not going to do this thing if it ends up being an AZ DT TRIBUTE, that is not what I want. I will do as much as I can to get as many people involved in the recording. Fortunately I don't have to organize this damn thing because it seems like some have taken it as their duity already, but I will withdraw my offer if this whole thing gets too messed up. I don't want any hard feelings between anyone, and I don't want to end up being the one to blame. THIS WILL WORK!!! I know we can put something together that we will be proud of, but remeber, your participation is crucial. Again, I will be gone all weekend, but I will try to keep in touch as best I can. I hope all is well. Please take this thing seriously. The AZ location is probably pretty good. We have some flexibility in location. I'm willing to drive down to Tucson to do whatever parts need doing. I also have access to a house with a nice sizable garage here in Gilbert (my in-laws' place) so whatever facilities are necessary, we can probably get. Vince, my voice number's on my web page if you want to give me a ring. 2. I have a DAT recorder... not the greatest one, but it will suffice for storing the finished versions of the songs. 3. Don't sweat it if someone already called a part you wanted!! Personally, I was gonna have some people get together with me to do an acoustic version of Pull Me Under and a bluegrass version of Take The Time, all totally independent of the people doing the "real" covers. Cover tapes are only as awesome as your variations make them... provided you play well and with energy and spirit. There can easily be multiple interpretations of the same songs on the tribute. The Tori Covered tribute has some songs that I hate one version of and like another version of. Of course, most everything on it sucks. That said, I want to hear a country version of Don't Look Past Me. 4. Would I be the distributor for it? I don't know, this just came up, and though I'm complimented that people turn to me automatically, I really haven't been secretly planning this all along as a profit-making venture. :) I'm willing though. If I don't do it, Jim Colberg might... he's a crack shot with a CD burner. We'll just have to see. I'll say this: I'll do it if I can commit to making the production and turnaround time reasonably small, based on my backorder load at that time.
