OK, let's not let this get out of hand. The *last* thing we want is for a bunch of seemingly wild-eyed, disorganized, headbangers who jumped onto Mom's computers shouting for "New DT, dude!" What we do want, assuming that the band wants this, and assuming it's warranted, is to politely ask ONCE for some feedback regarding the status of DT's new album, and a gentle reminder that it's been too damn long since they've released an LP. People that have to read publicly solicited e-mail like that will hit "D" on those "Dude, DT nox radz!!!!!" posts faster than Bafu comes up with that trademarked witty repartee. ---- > From: Albert Balkiewicz > Subject: Re: Voices > > By all means, do not use any of the blueberry drinks...not > only does it taste bad, but when you go for that *one* note > or scream or what have you, it's pretty embarrassing for the > crowd to see a blue mouth and tongue..... little unknown Well, I suppose that all depends on what kind of image you're going for, now doesn't it? :) ---- > From: Graham Borland > Subject: Mucous > > Why don't Americans spell mucous "mucos"? > > Graham B. Hey Rick...where have ya been? :) The new DT album: I love DT as much as the next guy, but I am patiently waiting for the new LP. I have so many other CDs to buy and listen to to keep me busy until DT's next masterpiece. Plus the fact that there's homework and other shit to do. I hope they release the album sometime in the summer. I think if it's released during school time, I'd abandon all my claases and work b/c I'd be listening to the new DT album all f00kin time. :) How doy uo think Metalica fans felt waiting 5 years for a new album. Trust me, it's not that long a wait. 2-3 years is the average time it now takes between albums. Message-ID: Hi all: I have to put in my plug as well for IAW being my favorite album. I also *LOVE* images and words, and very much *like* Awake. I really do enjoy the clear and melodic vocals that James has. Perhaps it was the mixing process as well, but even when he sings more metallic, such as the beginning of Take the Time, he has more definition and clarity in his voice compared to Awake. I do *love* the drum sound best in Awake. Portnoy's set is magnificent sounding in that release. Also, I have to admit that I don't like as well the 7 string, heavier sound in Awake and Change of seasons. I'd like to hear mostly 6 string guitars and better vocals with more clarity. Initially, I thought that Awake was a BIG step down in quality from IAW, when I heard just the cassette. But fortunately, when I got my CD player (practically for the reason that the cassette did not have Scarred on it, despite never hearing the song), when I first heard Scarred, it REALLY made up for the cassette. That's one of DT's best songs I think. Anyhow, that's my 2 cents worth, and I'm hoping DT keeps enough finesse and taste in most of the new songs in order to keep them mis-classified as a heavy metal band!
