There are a few tracks that have that familiar sound to them, that you at times think, that they have come off a previous release, but it is still very enjoyable and a good listen. Band SURREALITY album:SYL track 1 apokalypsis- cool rain intro some wonderful tones emanating from this album already keyboard players your going to love it! this is a very keyboard oriented album it's kind of a refreshing change of pace from all the guitars you hear all the time ( hey I'm even a guitarist.) very simple yet complete. track 2. naked- first lyrics on the album still very restrained kind of an antithesis of Labrie very understated yet still making his point. I think he may be a philosopher or some kind of thinker he has a very poetic style to his lyrics. music is still ... well I wnat to say pretty but it's kind of dark and pretty doesn't do it justice. track 3. insomne "pretty cool" very simple melody explorations. track 4. my serenity well for a person who sound like he has a lot of turmoil in his life it's kind of an ironic title but wiat there is meaning to this riddle but you'll have to hear it to understand it. track 5. warm not for the squemish or silly if you have sex on the brain don't pay attention to the lyrics until your in more of a contemplative mood. this guy like to open up to his listeners so don't be alittle surprised if your startled by his frankness. track 6. a liquid surface A uh well It's something you have to experience. Reminds me alot of a guy ay southwest Texas U. Ben Londa By the way he's pretty good too. track 7. waiting spoken word kind of the theme of the album. track 8. quietus well the second half is awesome great mixing of vocals and whispered vocals. a little more guitar used very effectively track 9. from where I am wow! If you have a Good stereo you should get the album just for the second part of this song the tones are so rich and surrounding you could take a bath in it. only one complaint the electric guitar sound a little out of place but it only plays for a short time in the back ground with no chords just kind of a background melody that's really cool. overall impression Excellent. the operative word here is value $3 dollars to be exact Best 3 dollars I've spent in awhile. contact http://http.tamu.edu:8000/~msr7146/imagescape for more details plus lyric and ordering info Cool web page too. also has a link to No Exit the guy from Southwest I mentioned earlier. if I seem a little vague about this it's because It's one of those thing you just have to experience. this is a very cool album get it! Cashman" To: email_address_removed Subject: I'm published in paperback :) Message-ID: As some of you know, I've had a story published in a fantasy (sword-and-sorcery) anthology. I always felt guilty announcing it while the book was out as a hardcover 'cause that's like $20, but now, finally, it's out in paperback and a lot cheaper. :) Most decent bookstores should have copies of ELRIC -- TALES OF THE WHITE WOLF, which is a collection of short-stories featuring Elric, Michael Moorcock's now-legendary runesword-wielding antihero. My story is right in the middle of the book, and is the tale of Elric's accession to the Ruby Throne of Melnibone'. I wrote it between pizza deliveries at Primo's Pizza, and since it was before I discovered DT, there are no sneaky DT references in it. :) I've been told by many it's a good story (one chap said it was the best in the anthology, which is cool because there are some 'real' pros in there as well). I think the overall quality of stories in there is fair to good -- I've seen better collections, and some worse ones. :) Some familiarity with the Elric character is probably best, but my story can stand alone. The publisher is White Wolf, best-known as a game studio (Vampire role-playing, etc.) ObDTC: I'm also the guy in charge of publications for a SF/fantasy/gaming/comics convention here called Dragon*Con, and I -did- sneak DT references into my 'welcome' column in our just-printed progress reports. Approximately 60,000 were printed and about half were mailed, the others distributed to comics and bookstores, so if you know someone who's getting one, play 'spot the DT refs' when you open it. :) -- | I know it's easier to walk away than look it in the eye.... | | I would raise a shelter to the sky... The point of the limited CD is to >give thanks to those people who've supported Mike the whole time, or >helped him in his projects. I would have no problem with setting up a >high-quality tape tree, though.<< I understand your point, G. Jack. The thing is that there's may be a lot of people on the jam that have not been here long enough to have participated in all of Mike's CD creations. For example, when I joined the jam last summer, Subconscious had come and gone already. I have since got Subcon in a trade and have all of Mike's CD's since (AD #247, WDATU #052, AQ & SFAM in the #20's, and Cygnus is coming w/ AQ). I just think it isn't fair to penalize me or the rest of us because we didn't get on the jam by a certain date. That's why I suggested the copies. The copies (or reissue if you want to call it that) could have a diffent cover or something that would make it different from the original but would still retain the quality of the original. That's just my .02 worth. Have a good day. Although I have not ordered these discs from him (I already had them all) I have ordered a tape copy of the Kevin Moore demos. The tape came quickly and was of very good quality. Also the discs he is offering are not that easy to come by and his prices are better than the prices when I have come across them. Message-ID: Hello Jammers-- Someone asked about Tim Lodge and the CD's he's selling (the Instrumentals, Majesty demo, Rising Power, etc.) in the last jam. I can only give my utter approval for his stuff. These CD's are great. The sound quality is better than many boots, some of it very close to studio quality. The biggest part is that there are a lot of tunes that you've never heard before. Cool ideas that never made it onto on of the albums. Plus, there are some cool cover songs that just kick ass like Rush's "Limelight." Instrumental I and II are without a singer, too, and that is great. I mean, if I want to hear godly vocals I can listen to I&W or Awake, but it's cool to hear just the music to get an idea of how DT writes and really hear the individual instruments. Well, that's what I think. I was overjoyed when I got my CD's and popped them into my player. I'm sure all the other jammers that have the CD's will agree. If you've got the cash, go for it.
