A new update is due within the next day or so, as soon as I finish creating the initial Antiquities numberlisting. Well, SCENES FROM A MEMORY pre-ordering is open. It is due out in April sometime, based on the timeframe I'm getting from the inlay printers. Basically, my roommate got fired before she could pay her share of the rent around here, and I'm a bit short of cash as a result. Furthermore, I'm gradually getting hungry and I know I'll have to do something about that. :) But seriously, I guess it's now as good a time as any to begin orders. I'm caught up with WDATU and it's only a matter of time until AQ returns to me via UPS. Scenes was ready to begin production anyway, I was just trying to wrap up WDATU first. for RESERVATIONS: ok now, here's what's up. IF YOU ORDERED ANTIQUITIES, you do not need to reserve a copy of Scenes before you send your money in. Ever since Acoustic Dreams -> WDATU, I've simply been saving the reservations list (which is numberless) and copying it over to a new sheet, then filling in with highliter when a previous buyer buys again, to make things easier. However, each shipment has a +/- allowance of about 50 copies due to prototypes, replacements, and similar factors, so if you did NOT get an Antiquities, please feel free to e-mail me to reserve a Scenes as well. So to sum it up. If you reserved and/or ordered Antiquities, you can just send in the new order for Scenes. You need only mention it to me if you want more or less CDs than you sent for last time. This way, a lot of people can get the orders in soon without waiting for me and my sorry e-mail reply speed to catch up. :) If you didn't order AQ, you need only say the word to reserve Scenes. If you would like a tracklisting for Scenes, feel free to e-mail me for the current update, or check out Jeff Chew's webpage (for which I totally forgot the address). Thanks everyone and take care!! Nguyen" Subject: Odd & Ends (YTSEJAM POST) To cover a lot of ground. 1. Someone mentioned DT being dropped from Dave Letterman about a year ago because of something to do with length or type of music. The band dropped from that show was King Crimson, it was when Dave when to Paris to do some shows. 2. My roommate at school just bought the NEW WDADU about a week ago. It's not remastered or anything just repackaged, with no lyrics. He found it at "THE WALL", an east coast chain store, so I'm sure it's out there. 3. Third, about the Galactic Cowboys. Talk about hell finding an album. I looked at five different stores before I found it. Anyway about the guy they dropped (I am a fan, and I do have the other too albums, but I am still confused) is the guy they dropped, was he the lead singer, I know Monty Colvin does most of the lead vocals now, but was the guy they dropped the lead singer. I don't know I'm just confused. Great album though. 4. I also picked up both Amiee Mann's new album, and Tori Amos's new one. If you like indie rock or Amiee's last one pick the new one up. And by all means if you haven't got into Tori yet do it NOW. BTW, I got my Bloody Kisses from Columbia House). >A friend of mine got his ACOS from Columbia House >for $13... Slightly less than the Tower Records price back in October... Yeah, but you gotta figure that with the shipping and handling plus the long wait it's worth it to go to the store and buy it like I did. I went to The Wall with my Images shirt on the day it came out and, practically drooling, dished out $14. BTW, my friend got Awake from BMG. later--------------Brian ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Feb 1996 17:53:49 -0500 From: email_address_removed To: email_address_removed Subject: Another lyrics misinterpretation Message-ID: Ooh I got another. Firstly, I know that they released other CDs, and I know that they are not on a major label, but self-produced or something. Where are these CDs? What are they like>? What is the status of the band now? And if anybody can, can you copy any other albums by these guys for me. I want to give this band exposure on my radio show. Can anybody also tell me what bands re signed to Magna Carta, and give me a brief description of them and their albums. I already know Shadow Gallery and Magelan. Is Ivanhoe on MC? I am currently writing to them for their CDs for my show. Can anybody give me some feedback on their products? also, how are the tribute CDs they released? Not sure if this has been discussed or not, but I really didn't like James' version at all. Oh well, they can't all be gems, right? :) Any comments on SS? On a totally unrelated topic to DT, I'd just like to say that if anyone is interested in joining a computer simulated NFL football league, I run the Cyber Simulation League on the 'net, and our draft starts on Saturday for the start of season 2. Cashman" To: email_address_removed Subject: IRC; new Metallica album Message-ID: Just a reminder about IRC: to find the exclusively-DT IRC server and channel, point your IRC client to irc.dreamt.org, port 2112. Once connected, just look for channel #ytsejam. There will usually be people in there chatting between, say, 8 or 9 pm and 1 am Eastern time (US). The current record is 16 users at once, and it's a rare night when we don't have at least 5 or 6 online. Notes: don't be disheartened if you show up and no-one says anything. Sometimes people will be away from their screens and glancing over from time to time, waiting for someone else to show up. Be patient. If you arrive and "Skadz" (the IRC op, 'owner' of dreamt.org) is the only other user present, he'll probably be away working, so don't leave right away. If no-one's there, or if it's just Skadz, try to wait around for a while. During evening hours in the States, it's rare for ten or 15 minutes to go by without someone stopping by or passing through. --Paul ("Pellaz" on IRC) Oh, I checked wth the Metallica Club on the new album and their confirmed date for the new album is June 4th for the USA, June 3rd for the rest of the world. There's some questions for which I would like to have some answers. First, I'm always searching for all the DT good CDs, but I don't know where to find them. Like, does anybody know where I could find WDATU, or at least order it? What are the songs on it? Then, Where can we find any DT t-shirts? See, they're not as popular in Quebec as they are anywhere else. People are just beggening to know them here. Anyway, if there's anyone who can answer my questions, I'd be really thanksful to him or them. P.S.: If there's any jammers from Quebec, show yourself on the list. I'd be very happy to communicate with them. Later jammers... I just got it the other day and haven't stopped listening to it. In fact, and this might be scary to some of you, I found it more immediately likeable than Awake. I know, sacriledge(!), but it's true! It is a really nice piece of work. The musicianship is very nice, with some killer guitar work and some REALLY nice acoustic piano in some parts. The track Why is a 9 minute song very similar to Learning to Live. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes DT, due to their similar sounds, I'd love to hear them do a cover of DT, I might not be able to tell the difference! Unfortunately I don't have Bernd's e-mail address with me, but I do know the CD is available from Jason Skewes for $19 at: 2907 Hilltop Drive, Euless, TX 76039.
