I don't think this was mentioned so here it goes: One member from each group is Jewish (Geddy Lee and Mike Portnoy). ****************************************************************************** email_address_removed "No one can hear when you're screaming in digital" - Queensryche ******************************************************************************* ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Sep 1995 20:20:47 -0500 (CDT) From: Larry G Waterfield To: email_address_removed Subject: When I got I&W... Message-ID: Hey all! I just thought I'd add that I was also guilty of skipping over Another Day, Surrounded, and Wait for sleep when I first got it. I don't think it was because I didn't like them, just that I couldn't wait to hear the other songs. I was completely awestruck by them when I got that album. I couldn't get enough. To this day, Met. and UaGM have changed the way I listen to music. I hate to be blasphemous, but LTL was the LAST song that I 'got into'. I mean, it's a great song, but next to the Big Three, it just had to take a back seat. It was only after urging from Ytsejam that I gave it another listen (as recent as a YEAR ago!). Why does it top all the poll lists? It really seems to strike a chord with some people. For me, it's UaGM. I'm not slamming LTL: I&W (the whole thing) completely defines what I call my favorite music. I happily know all the lyrics and changes. But why is it the favorite? If you want, post your favorite parts and I'll give it another listen in that light. Bye! Glenn ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ L. I sat on the stage, and needless to say, it was the best concert ever. In any case, I was talking to someone at the concert who said they had a copy of a Majesty demo. Where can I get one? McFarlane, who is a friend of the band and a sort of "slum angel," taking in strays of several species, 2- and 4-legged, and helping them out. :) -- Once you're touched you stand alone | Paul W. There is currently an advanced copy of Dream Theater's "A Change of Seasons" EP playing in my CD player for the third time in a row. I LOVE THIS VERSION OF ACoS!!!!!. The acoustic beginning rules, I especially love the Harmonies. Derek rules as well. This is the first time I've heard his playing, and he's damn good. The Ronnie Scott's stuff is cool, too. But ACoS is the jewel of the EP. If you have questions, feel free to email me. Some things never change. ) When I have some news to post, I'll post it, never fear! :) Since I haven't seen this mentioned yet on the list yet, I thought I'd bring it up... in the latest issue of Keyboard, _Awake_ was voted 3rd best album in their 19th annual reader's poll. Tori Amos' _Under The Pink_ was voted #1, Dixie Dregs _Full Circle_ was #2. Not bad artists to lose to, IMO. :) I'm sure Kevin didn't mind Tori beating him out either.
