I know that I have only been with the list for a short while, but I am real curious to see how many of you would be interested in a Ytse convention. I know that some of you will find this ridiculous, but I think that it would be a lot of fun to get everyone together so that we can meet and see who we have been writing to. Just think we could have it centrally located perhaps in the U.S. I don't mean to exclude the ytse's from other countries - if they can suggest anything feasible just send me a line. I am asking the females on this list for feedback (since we are just better at this kind of stuff) on how we could do this. So Michelle, Jennifer (airdance), Jenny Baer (hope that I spelled your last name right), Kinga and I know that there are a few more women on the list let me know. I now some of you just think that this is another excuse for a party, but hat's so wrong with that (ha ha). P.S. Just an idea that I have had for a while that I needed to state, even though it has been stated before. Oh yeah, I think I should appologize for my sister and her "Theatre" typo. Maybe you've noticed that I the last time spent much time talking about other bands than DT. I thought I was loosing my touch, but since yesterday everything is back to normal --> DT RULES This post is going to be rather long I think, so I'll start this way : 1 FW songlist 2 FW-sound 3 DT songlist 4 DT-show 5 LaBrie 6 Derek If any other ytsejammer were at the CIRKUS, please fill in my blanks and correct me. This is the things I can remember at this moment 1 FW (I know it is incomplete, but I hope it will help someone) stay < -perhaps, I couldn't really hear > Outside looking in 11'th hour Eye to eye Parallells Face the fear Monument ---------------- 2 FW-sound With all respect to all of you FW-fans: FW sounded catastrofically bad ! At least in the beginning. We got the explanation that it was because they've hadn't had time to sondcheck. What that in that case was due to , I don't know. But I've heard garage-bands sounding better. Later on they did get some control of the sound, but it was still a bad show, unfortunately --------------- 3 DT Pull me (extremely short version) Jam < jazzy> Pull Me Under 6:00 Take the Time Lifting Shadows of a Dream Jam < spanish-ish >, Derek+Petrucci Jam < Gary Moore-ish >, Derek+Petrucci Mirror Lie Caught in a Web Damage inc. Key-solo < car-racing-ish > Surrounded Drum-solo Erotomania Voices the Silent Man + Metropolis --------------- 4 DT-show Sadly I think that this was DTs *least-wonderful* appearance in Sweden. I really miss the songs from the first album. Almost every song had a new start, new solos, new parts, new tempo or something else different from the albums, and that I LOVE. I think that shows their greatness After the show they ran back to the guys in the front and spent a lot of time shaking their hands and doing *high-five*. It was a nice thing, I think. Wish I would had been there, But during the show some guys in the front jumped and headbanged and pushed so I spent most of the consert in the middle of the room . Afterall that's were the sound is the best, and when DT is playing that's the most importent criteria. By the way; the sound was *again* excellent. can't figure it out how they can do it so perfect each and every time. After the show we went back almost as quick as possible. we didn't have any backstagepasses, and didn't consider the possibility getting to DT afterwards. So this time I went back whitout Autographs. Unfotunately DT has grown too BIG to give us that opportunity. ( wish we wouldn't had tell anyone how great they are.... ;-)> ---------------- 5 LaBrie He was really loosing it at the beginning. The wireless microphone just went out of order. After a while, trying to get it working, he throw it in to the wall with full speed, and rushed backstage to get the other. We in the crowd did of course fill in all the lyrically blanks. After a few lines the same thing happened to the other mic. ! The song was interrupted, and the band started playing this jazzy beat. It was so brilliant. perhaps the best part ever heard of DT. So unMETALish. Just what you could expect of these guys. When the jam was over James ReEntered the stage. Some funny words were spoken, since Petruccis mic. worked allright. And James asked: What have I done to deserve this ,and: From where I come from you usually need a mic. to sing. after this they ReStarted PMU. --------------- 6 Derek He is no Kevin Moore. He is Derek Sheridinan. I think he fits in DT quite good. If you haven't already seen him, you can stop beeing worried. He is really good. ByTheWay, he and Portnoy have really found each other. During a great deal of time during the show the had eye-contact and smiled against each other oftenly. They even had a spit-fight. not that nice. I wonder if the other guys really know about that. I can't remember Derek miss any tone, and that's not bad at all. Still I remember all the other to do some misstakes, unbelievebly enough. All for now perhaps when I wake up in the morning I'll have more to say Henrik Gustafsson Trollha:ttan Sweden ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Feb 1995 15:37:45 -0500 (EST) From: Rob Weychert To: email_address_removed Subject: All good songs Message-ID: Hi all, Off the top of my head, here's some albums on which I really (for the most part) like every song or come really close: Claude Bolling: The Picnic Suite (w/ Rampal, Lagoya) Black Sabbath: Paranoid Corrosion of Conformity: Blind Dream Theater: When Dream and Day Unite Faith No More: The Real Thing Faith No More: Angel Dust Front Line Assembly: Millennium Infectious Grooves: The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move...
