Now this station gets CONSIDERABLE audience... being in the fourth largest radio market in the nation, and I was sort of disappointed how COMMERCIAL the results were... The station SAID that the songs were ranked according to number of requests, but if that were true, why wasn't "Lie" in the top 10... Lie was #1 for about two months straight on the weekly top 9 at 8 countdown. The requests were definitely there... ah well. Here's how it DID turn out. 1. Candlebox Far Behind <- my band plays this song, argh 2. Soundgarden Black Hole Sun <- GOOD LORD NO! 3. Stone Temple P. Interstate Love Song 4. Alice in Chains No Excuses <- ahhh, that's better. 5. Meat Puppets Backwater 6. Collective Soul Shine 7. Pink Floyd Keep Talking <- another sign of intelligence 8. Mr. Jones Gin Blossoms 9. Deuces Aerosmith 10. Self Esteem Offspring Here's how the songs WE care about, fared: 12. Lie Dream Theater 17. Stick It Out Rush 34. Cold Fire Rush 46. Double Agent Rush 68. Nobody's Hero Rush 80. Caught in a Web Dream Theater Nothing like good old sellout radio to get those juices flowing. I picked up an Aiwa HS-JS216 Walkman today. It has a stereo 1/8" mic in jack on it and a stereo condenser mic (external). I was wondering if anyone else out there has had experience with the 216, and what their experiences were like. I'm looking to get decent recordings of musicians *I* know, like my friend's band and my band (they're metal, we're acoustic, so I'm really running the gamut, so to speak). The $75 I paid for it was not a small chunk of cash out of my pocket, so I'd really be interested in any comments either way about it. I'm really not going to be able to "feild test" it for about another week here, so let me know -- either public or private -- what you think. Is this the theater that Mike got the name from, or was it another one in sothern California? Take a polaroid from each possible angle (look for any sort of DT-related decor or the like) and scan 'em and put 'em on the archive site if you can. I'd be interested to SEE the DT...
