I can't remember who the "challenger" was, but they were a bad rip-off of Blues Traveler, harmonica riffs were not just close but exact in many places. How lame. Anway, I asked for the score at the end, and it was 51 - 0...! DT's really kicking ass here lately. :^) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Dec 1994 06:51:25 -0500 From: "Mark A. I won't be able to send out what I want to say before January, though. Sometimes vacation sucks :/ Dom'ny ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Dec 1994 07:13:25 -0500 From: "Mark A. Now I really like it, especially the first song and the last two songs. << Comparing it to "Awake" is very misleading--"Ever" is progressive rock and "Awake" is progressive metal.>> Very true. However EVER could be compared to I&W except that I&W is light years better. << Since most of the people here seem to be progressive metal first and progressive rock second, they will probably not enjoy "Ever".>> True again. I wonder why more prog-rock fans didn't like I&W. What a shame! But I can understand why AWAKE wouldn't draw many prog-rockers. <> That's stretching it a bit :). On the other hand, I always wondered how many DT fans are into Yes. I think that DT fans would really get off on "Close To The Edge" and "Relayer", especially the heavier songs. "Machine Messiah" from DRAMA is also (idea-wise) very similar to DT.- Andy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Dec 1994 10:50:58 -0500 From: email_address_removed To: email_address_removed Subject: Re: European Tour Message-ID: Stephane Auzilleau wrote: <<>> I don't know if they are playing with QR or not but the listing I have says that they will play Gent on Feb. 13 at "Vooruit". And I think, even though I just got the CD last week, I might like Emerson, Lake, and Palmers, Brain Salad Surgery more than Dream Theaters albums. Gasp, what is this world coming to? Karn Evil 9 has to be the coolest song ever recorded. ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 620 *************************
