Message-ID: I totally disagree...There's a ton of people out there who are huge fans, that haven't even heard of our newsgroup...or can't afford either the online service, or a computer to do it with...and they are absolutly NO LESS important than any of us are! Personally, I think that Mike's right on when he says he's disgusted with these kinds of questions...and I don't think the band (John P. for example) is too flattered when some guy wearing a "Special" shirt that proves he's different...comes up and asks about some obscure demo song recorded a couple of years ago...as the band has said many times, they don't like to lingger in the past...and maybe they really hate that old material when they look back on it. This kind of thing could eventually give us (YTSEJAMers') a bad name. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not flaming anyone here...Tim Lodge is a totally cool person, and I don't mean to just rag on him...but I really think we could be a little more thoughtful...and a little more compassionate to their feelings also...The whole "I'm your #1 fan" thing should be left for Poison fans...I honestly can say that I think DT fans are above that level (ALL OF YOU!!!)...so let's show them that. Message-ID: I was just listening to my copy of the Majesty Demos (something I haven't done in a while, you all should go listen to them again!). If you will go and listen to Resurrection (sp? - its been a looong day) of Ernie, listen to the very last part. It is the ending of Caught in a Web. Actually its the ending of the "demo" version that Mike played on a radio show a few months ago. They added a few extra beats on the album version. On a side note, do you remember how in the interview Mike kept saying how "off" this demo was from the real thing? It sounds almost identical accept for a few slight things, but nothing to make the big that Mike did. Let me know if you hear what I'm talking about with the Ernie thing. BTW - anyone got any good boots yet? I would really love one especially from the Baltimore show!! I just "subscribed" to YTSE JAM, so forgive me if my point is moot. Anyway, it seems that CDs of DT's original "When Dream And Day Unite" release are difficult to get, yes? I'd been trying to order it from Tower for a while, to no avail, and had pretty much given up. Well, I was in "Best Buys" last week, and looked just for kicks, and they had something like five copies of WDADU on CD, as imports, for $16 or $17. I snatched one up, of course, but if anyone else has been searching for it, I'd be willing to play "delivery boy" by picking one up and mailing it - all I ask is the price of the disc and shipping (up front, preferably...much as I've been looking for it, I don't want two...). Oh, BTW, Awake is tied for my favorite of my 400 CDs...tied with Images & Words, of course... *:^) Later, Craig Caldwell (Reply to "email_address_removed" or I won't get it....). As far as "grilling the band goes". of course the first thging i said was "Great Show..you guys are my greatest inspiration...John P: You're one of the best...". Now. after this there were plenty of questions myself and the people around me wanted to ask. And some of them were about past things, demos, live shows, etc. Look Correct me if I were wrong, but if my band ever got this big, i TOTALLY WOULDNT GIVE A SH*T if people asked me about older stuff, or whatever. In fact, I MIGHT EVEN BE FLATTTERED!....... Even if someone asked me about a demo i might have recorded when I was 15, sure I might be embarrassed, but i certainly would SINK SO LOW as to be PRETERBED ABOUT IT!. Talk about DT YTSEJAMMERS being ABOVE asking these kinds of questions,... well I think DT should be ABOVE getting angry over them being asked... If you want to score backstage passes or wait after the show for an hour just to say "Great show. Love your stuff", then be my guest. I'd much rather find out information that I can ONLY get from the band. Besides, after 2 or 3 questions, Portnoy started grilling me with his own questions. It was alot of fun. I seem to sense that Portnoy is 'one of us' and if he wasn't in DT, he would be backstage with us- Grilling them! But James' singing in that part of Scarred isn't triplets eeither. It's a 3 3 2 syncopated rhythm, but it is still in 4/4 time. Secondly, to When Dream & LaBrie Unite (nice title) I don't think we really need to include Killing Hand since there's already a good version on LaTM. I think the point fo this should be to collect all the WDADU tracks not officially released as well as al lthe "unreleased" tracks on a live CD. Plus, leaving off Killing Hand might leave more room for ACoS. :) ~Chris __ /\ __ __\/__\/__ \_||_/ /__||__\ // \ | \\ \| ------------------------------ End of YTSEJAM Digest 579 *************************
