If you haven't looked at the CD lately, you guys/gals might not realize that it is the MAJORITY of Awake (longest song) at a whopping 11:00. This could just be a rounded off time, but I am fairly sure that it is really close to 11:00. These type of songs is what allow music to have meaning! How can you call it music if there isn't a message or feeling and purpose to create and compose songs as wonderful as this!? Is it bad to have songs that express emotion in every word and also be longer than the crap on the radio? This song is the essence of Dream Theater's style and creativity. Peter Gabriel was the vocalist; Steve Hackett, guitarist; Tony Banks, keyboardist; Mike Rutherford, bassist; Phil Collins a really good drummer (yes, he can really do a good job when he wants). If you're not familiar with this music and like Peter Gabriel, I'd recommend starting with "Selling England by the Pound" (which has just had a re-mixed version released). The sound isn't progressive metal, so if you only like metal you might not like it. But if you give it a chance and pay attention to the musicianship, it's *excellent*. Other, heavier progressive bands that might be of interest are Anglagard, Anekdoten, and Threshold. The first one should appeal if you like Dream Theater and King Crimson.
