Dance Of It is VERY obvious that it's a soundboard...listen to the instrument separation. And of course the audience would be miked if they were planning on releasing it as "A Change of Seasons," which I think they were. If it's only been played live twice, then at least one of those times had to be recorded for the release, because it was cancelled only a few days before August 17, when it was supposed to come out. max 'e's not quite dead ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 3 Apr 1994 14:59:01 +0200 (MET DST) From: Markus"Mackan"Forsblom Subject: CD - Pics I'm wondering if there is some place that got pictures of albums and stuff with Dream Theater ? Or where could i upload som pictures, i'm about to scan (in color) all the CD's I can get my hands on, and make them GIF-pics. A friend of mine got a lots of DT bootlegs, that i can scan, if there is any interest of it. But where should I UL it so you can get the hand of it ? .---------------------------------------------------------------------------. I made a program, which helps you read the bootleg listing. No more ::13,43,149,500-600,1, nonono. Now you just browse in the bootleg CD listing and select the one you want, and the program will extract the names for you.. Easy! And all this for free. :-) It's a PC program, but I'll mail the (almost ANSI-) C sourcecode to anyone who wants it. It shouldn't be too hard to port to other computers, because even the screen handling is done with ANSI-sequences and there's no cursor key support etc.. If you want the PC executable, please mail to me at email_address_removed.fi. If there are many people who want it, I'll mail it to the list. It's just about 10 kB long. -- "Through different eyes we keep looking for what we lack." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 03 Apr 94 17:00:50 EDT From: email_address_removed Subject: Re:Questions about some rare DT stuff. Don't know about the B&B comments but a friend that has close connections to the band says this about the tune: "that Wanted: Dead Or Alive thing is John Petrucci solo w/a drum machine & Kevin Moore's roommate, Rich (who also used to be John P.'s Mesa-Boogie rep), on lead vocals...or whatever you want to call that screeching!haha ;) John recorded it originally for one of his guitar pupils to practice to and Rich added the vocals later without John's knowledge! Pretty funny stuff!" Hope this helps! Secondly, I posted this before, but the list was having troubles, so I don't think anyone saw it. The word on CompuServe is that Terry Brown IS NOT producing the new album. Someone says it's John Prudell (sp?) who I guess has worked with Ozzie and Heart. Hmmm.... I also like TB, but some of Rush's subsequent producers have made comments about the sound quality of some of their pre-Grace Under Pressure recordings that are not all that flattering. I do think that Brown's Voivod and Fates stuff sounds better than the older Rush. If the new DT is only three weeks away, I'd be shocked. It usually takes a lot longer to crank up the marketing/tour/publicity machine. And with DT's success, I think that their lable will really push them hard the next time out. I'd say they're kind of in the same musical genre, but definetly not a combination of the two. DT can't really be described if you ask me, their style is so diverse, that it can't be called anything but DT (run on). I think that DT is complicated like Rush and Queensryche (two bands that I totally envy), but definetly more musical than the two (in my opinion, no flames on this one). That's my two cents (which is about all I can afford right now). Right on... throw a bit of Yes, a pinch of Zep, and the slightest twinge of Ozzy, and you have it.
