Candlebox will open for the first several dates, then the Melvins (who I expect will be booed off the stage) for three California dates. No confirmations after that, beginning with Feb. 23rd in Murfreesboro, TN. Could be King's X, could be Primus, could be Dream Theater (long shot but I'd love it :)). King's X WILL be an opener at some point on the tour according to SRO Management, Rush's NY management co. -- Paul W. I think Japanese cds are just more expensive to begin with. Why else do they always seem to add an extra track on Japansese releases, to get the Japanese to buy the Japanese cds. I saw a mini review of Live at the Marquee (German version) in ROX a local (Balt/DC) HR/HM monthly. It was in the mini review section and got 5 spades, the best that you can do. The only other 5 spader for the month was Metallica's Live #@!&. All it said about DT was that the album was a main attraction. I guess I am lucky, since I bought the Japanese version of LATM with Another Day and got the free Live sampler with Surrounded, so I don't have to spend another 15$ to get the song. --Pat Daugherty email_address_removed ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jan 1994 10:27:38 -0400 (EDT) From: "Michael O. Bartz" Subject: Import CD's, the first album, etc. I'd like to get DT's first album, and their new live EP, but I really don't want to buy them at import prices. In the past, I've gotten things as imports, only to find out that they will be released domestically in a month! So before I go out and pay US$17 and up, I just want some assurance that I won't get screwed. I am guessing that the live EP won't ever be released here in the states(why that is, I have NO IDEA...) But it would seem logical for their first album to be eventually released. Has their been any word about this? Any interviews with the band where this question has been asked? Well for now, I'll just enjoy one of the best prog-metal albums ever made: Images and Words. Mike -- Michael O. Whatever happened to the idea of posting DT guitar tab? I saw the one post about the intro to "Under a Glass Moon", but that's been it...so, is anyone out there interested in sharing DT tab? I'm interested in acquiring anything that people are willing to type in; I've got a bit of "Surrounded" tabbed out, in addition to all of "Pull Me Under" and part of "Metropolis" from the ftp.uwp.edu archives. If there's not enough general interest to post tab, maybe we could at least get something going over email. Someone mentioned pictures before, and they just showed up on America On-Line, but they are in MAC PICT format. I don't think that they can be viewed. If whoever uploaded them there could email them to me on AOL at mikeb16307, I can post as soon as I get back to school (Sunday) Please send them as GIF or JPG files. That way, everyone can view them. I forget your address, or I would write directly. Also, on archieving, I don't remember which I have from the beginning, but the 30 was a guess. I have them on my computer back at school, so I can check once I return. I might have before 20, but again, I am not sure. -- ************************************************************************ * I was told there's a miricle for each day that I try * * I was told there's a new love that's born for each one that has died * * I was told there'd be no one to call on when I feel alone and afraid * * I was told if you dream of the next world * * You'll find yourself swimming in a lake of fire * * Dream Theater Metropolis (part 1) Images and Words * * Michael Burstin Brandeis University * ************************************************************************ * Let's Go Pens Let's Go Pens Lets Go Pens Let's Go Pens * ************************************************************************ For info on Dream Theater, some Steven Wright jokes, the master list of pickup lines, a revised history of the world, a few blond jokes: finger email_address_removed >mikeb.finger.file ------------------------------ End of Digest ************************
